A female Paul Potts. Wish her all the best. I certainly watched Paul Pott's career with interest.

The book still looks the same though :D

The setup made it predictable though.

I particularly liked the bit prior to her singing when the camera panned out to one of the young women in the audience giving an awesome look of "What a crazy freak" with her friends all s******ing.

I dont watch the show religiously, infact i only watch maybe a couple of worthy clips over the years which people recommend. But i found it hilarious as to this womans expression shown on national television a minute prior to this person singing, what a lovely society we have ;)

Anyone else think her voice isn't that great anyway?

Paul Potts really annoyed me. Yeah, he had a fairly decent voice, but listen to him sing Nessun Dorma, then listen to Pavarotti sing it, and the latter is 10^1000000 times better. But idiots lap it up.

Can't help but feel it was a bit setup. She revealed a lot about her personal life that most people wouldn't tell their friends let alone a national tv audience. And that audience member pre singing reaction is a bit top gear syndrome, either they have a shit load of cameras everywhere at all times or that reaction was staged for a specific shot.

I'm not sure how it works but aren't all these talent show applicants all prescreened now anyway because of the sheer number of applicants. They gets assessed on entertainment value as to whether they go in front of the judges.

I suspected something along the same lines I have to admit - even though I really liked the way it happened :)

I did find a few sources that point to the woman's background being legit though - its still possible its a setup obviously, but I can help thinking if it was a simon cowell x-factor style setup they'd eventually "leak" it just to generate more publicity.

Yes, they do. And they film everyone going onto that stage, discarding only the boring ones, because tape is cheap and inexperienced desperate staff working for pittance rates is cheap.

Her voice is exceptional. She went on stage and sang perfectly in key - that's very difficult to do.

The audience should stfu though, ignorant wankers.

No I meant the reaction of specific members of the audience not the ones going on stage. Like the girl who pulled a face before she heard any singing.

Based on my experience with current and former girlfriends, they tend to do that more about another woman's appearance. I like to call it "she's not wearing THAT?!" reflex.

It may well have been edited in, but the cut was fairly poor so I think it was live tbh. Cameras on the audience will be hunting around for reactions. I remember filming a club getting relegated last season, and by pure chance I came across the biggest girly cry from a grown man just after the final whistle. The instant the director saw it (within about 3 seconds) he cut straight to me, and the bloke was probably famous in his pub after that.

It happens, and very easily. You also have to remember that the programme will be chopped up to buggery, listen to the audio and applause when she stops singing, and the judge's speeches.

She better cash in now cos the future looks decidedly grim for these contestants. With technology as it is and where it is going there will come a time when the best parts of one contestant will be combined with the best of another. So using this hypothesis the only part of Susan that would be used would be her vocal chords. The rest would be thrown away more than likely. Her voice would end up in some nubile blond bombshell that previously couldn't sing a note even offkey. Lets face it is is a ruthless business.

Susan hang onto them vocal chords girl and cash in now while the going is good!

She has a amazing voice and she is certainly going to go far. She picked a tough song to sing and i know 100% sure that whoever saw that clip for the first time was no fuc*ing way in hell expecting her to sing it as well as she did.

If you can honestly say you felt nothing by end of the song - emotion - then there is something wrong with you. I for one think she will go far and i dont think it would be unfair to say it is not deserved, she has a good voice. 50 Gazzillion hits on YouTube says it all.

Blackburn is a mighty shithole.

Born and inbred in Whitburn mate (moved away as soon as I could.) where abouts are you in West Lothian?

Blackburn is an almighty shithole, remember the new entrance to the "shopping centre" going up, in it's shiny glass glory. Within 2 days they'd smashed every panel with air rifles

They eat their children in Whitburn.

She was actually in my street tonight, a pair of morons on the pavement were pointing at the car she was in and mouthing something like "...there's that woman..." like they'd just seen Jesus Christ.
