Ok, My current set up is a D-Link Wireless DSL-G604t ADSL router connected via an Ethenet Cable to a Linksys Broadband Router WRT54G thats been patched with Svensoft Firmware so I could set it up as a just a wireless router, Now our house is quite old therefore has big thick walls on the ground floor in essence making the Dlink useless for any room outside that room,The house being 3 stories high.
The Dlink is where the phone connection is and there's an Ethernet connection from that to the top room where the Linksys router is. There are 3 computers in house. Two on the Ground floor and one on the 2nd Floor. The one in the top room is connected via cable to the Linksys. One computer on the ground floor wirelessly connected to the linksys the other to the D-link.
The Dlink has Upnp enable while the Linksys doesn't, I have RIP2 on, and Dlink has DHCP enabled. Both routers have 128 Bit Wep Security running. While all firewall abilities have been turned off on the Linksys but not the Dlink.
However Im getting some funny connectiong problem. For one should Upnp be enabled on both routers? at the moment the Dlink has it on but bot the Linksys.
Secondly Bittorent is oh my god slow.... i've done connection tests and the speed checks out so it must be a port issue, but i've enable Upnp and opened the ports but it still runs slow.
So any ideas on what you think would be the best set up in this case would be appreciated.
