Hey all=)

a amature question : How do I know what networkcard I got (the name)

and I guess I can download it from Find a Notebook, Desktop, Server, Printer, Software, Service, Monitor or TV at Dell. (got dell computer) or just type in the name @ google.com and find it for download

think I accidently (sp?) uninstalled it o.0

well it's not there, I got my wireless networkcard listed there and the 1394 Netadapter..

but not the one I need to connect errr with a cable=)

if its a dell laptop, there's probably only going to be one network card available for that model, just search on the dell website for the network card driver for the model you have (should be on the plastic above the keyboard)

Go to the laptop vendors website enter the serial number, bar code or service tag number (which the website should tell you where to locate although it's typically under the lappy) Once entered the website should return a full detailed list of the spec including all hardware components.

BTW, Network cards are typically so generic windows should find it and install driver automatically if you have un installed it, check device manager to check its not disabled. Generic drivers work fine, they just lack some of the features home users prolly wont use anyway.

Either because it is disabled (which it isn't in your case because you only have a disable option, not enable) Or because it isn't installed correctly/incomplete drivers maybe I saw this the other day on an XP machine in work with same network card, a reboot sorted it out in my case. Try a restart first then try removing the device and letting windows pick it up/install drivers or update the driver.
