This bastard mother fucking router keeps crashing, and my line keeps dropping too. I dunno if the pair are related or if it's just coincidence.
What does all this bullshit mean?

I get exactly the same thing, pulling the power out fixes it, but it's bloody annoying, with no sign of any fixes online or on netgears website! :(

What firmware version do you have? I have the same router, and the issue lies with my ISP. My line went down every 10 minutes due to them refreshing DHCP. Using firmware 1.03.00 works. It's only totally fucked up once in a month, and then a soft reboot was all that was needed.

1.05.00 seems like a nice firmware, if you're just having general stability issues, and not ISP related ones.

I'm on 1.05.00, and I've only had the router 2 weeks, seems to totally lock-up every 3 or so hours, doesn't even respond to the web-admin. Thinking of going back to my 814, which seems more stable, until it's fixed.

Nildram was disconnecting every 8.5 minutes like clockwork. This seems to have solved itself, but now the whole router seems to be crashing. The ethernet will stop working too.

Turning off the Wireless Access Point didn't help.

Also the router time wont sync! WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THIS CRAP?

Tried the 1.03.00 firmware then? Most stable one I've tried. 1.04.04 beta was also ok, but not for everyone it seemed. All in all, it's a nice product, shite firmware.

I gave up, using my old DG814. I think I'll wait for new firmware. I'd contact netgear support, however I don't have the time to talk to Indian tech support monkeys working from a script!

I've never got them to escalate me, despite me have 4 years experience of installing/integrating/supporting routers/switches/firewalls! :(

OMG!! Everywhere I go I find out more and more people are having problems with this pile of poop.

Got mine a couple of weeks ago and it kept locking up and dropping as well.

Updated the mother to v 1.05 and it was a bit better. Still gave me a shit load of problems with some games (Call of Duty caused me no end of grief).

Having said that, I've now been totally stable for the last week so fingers crossed. I haven't even tried the wireless bit of the bastard yet though.

It's fine for me now. Dunno what the problem was to stop it though.
