This may have been posted already so my apple orgies if it has.

Anyone else seen this goings on where American congress (On behalf of royalty boards) plans to increase royalties owed and paid by internet web casters to extortionate levels? Personally i don't listen to net radio a whole lot as im usually using a Voice comm program however when i just want to chill out and look for something new ill often visit di.fm or pandora and try and find something new, and have often found new artists i would never otherwise have thought to try before.

I think this place describes the ins and outs of it, but basically the new model is going to mean the more diverse a station is, the more it pays and therefore only mainstream music will be profitable and as such net radio joins broadcast radio in becoming bland and unoriginal.

Not really much us Europeans can do about it as ultimately only Americans can lobby their senators but its still something than irks me enough to see what other people think.
