Anyone know how to set it up ?
Used to run 2 PC's running Win98 and used Sygate Home Network to connect them both.
Recently bought 2 new PC's and now running Win2k.
This PC connects fine but the 2nd PC cannot even find this 1 on the network.

Is there anything I should be doing ?

Oh its setup like this :
Cable Modem -> Hub -> 2 PC's

in this order :

are the leds blinking? (on the hub/router/the network adapter)
-> if not, are they connected ok? are you using the right cables? is the mode set correctly on the ports?

can you ping 127.0.0.1 on the second pc?
-> if not, tcp/ip is not correctly setup

can you ping <ip given to pc2> from the second pc?
-> if not, tcp/ip is not correctly setup

can you ping <ip given to pc2> from another pc?
-> if not, tcp/ip is not correctly setup ( is the puter in the same subnet as the others? eg. pc2's ip = 192.168.0.5 while the others are 192.168.1.*)

in case you really have a hub and not a bb router :

you can't hub a network with a cable modem since you can have only one external ip . You need a broadband router ( which is a 2 ethernet router with built-in switch)

you want Cable > pc > router

unless you get a BB ethernet router (they rock)
