Neo-man

Old man sat on the settee all day and loafed, drinking beer and watching sport...

new man wore silk panties and helps with the shopping, chores and changes the baby' nappy.

Neo-man - well he don't take no shit off of no one, and he exfoliate's and moisterises as part of his daily facial cleansing regime....

and there-in lies my problem.

products:
[no geeks, not NVidia :p]
Nivea for men exfoliating facial scrub.
Nivea for men double action face wash.
Nivea for men moisterising facial lotion.
Nivea for men sensitive skin aftershave balm.
Shaving Gel (various).

the double action face wash says your meant to use it morning and night - "to remove shit"

the moisterising lotion your supposed to use after the face wash or the facial scrub....

the facial scrub doesn't specify when it's to be used.

shaving gel, aftershave balm, duh.

WHAT fucking order do i use all this crap in? i'd been given it all as a gift, and after initially pissing myself laughing i started using some of it in no particular order.... and what do you know? my skin feels healthy and revitalised (arse) but more importantly - SHAVING IS LESS PAINFUL. (i have sensitive skin).

so any advice here?

summo, ur a hairdresser, does that extend to "other beauty shit"?

Facial scrub before shaving, not too much, especially on sensitive skin. It will get the crap out of your skin and sort out ingrowing hairs...

If you get bad burn or bumps afterwards, check out the 'Tend Skin' products from http://www.garden.co.uk/, its expensive but its fkin awesome, i had bad rash on my neck, it sorts it out in like 48 hours and doesn't come back if you keep using it after shaving.

Keep it simple I say, a decent wash-thingy (not a scrub though, they're a bit harsh on the skin in the long run) before shaving - cleans, softens bristles etc, then a calming moisturiser afterwards and that's all. If you really want then a gentle facewash at night too.

Can't believe we're having this conversation.

My professional experience in this area has led to the following 6-step plan for the relief of sensitive skin. (Patent pending)
  • Shave using a sharp, cut-throat razor and gently but firmly carve away the top few layers of skin. Use a 'slicing' motion rather than 'scraping'. Your aim is to expose the nice new raw layers of skin below the surface.
  • Soak a flannel with alcohol and wrap it around your lower face. Many people say alcohol-based products dry the skin, but they're not professionals.
  • Carve a few more layers away.
  • Treat your skin with this excellent product.
  • After five hours soak again with alcohol and light a match.
  • You bastard

Dont bother with the facial wash, that's for sweaty goons who don't have showers in the morning.

Use the scrub first. Then shave (Gillette Gel is still the best I've found), apply balm to shaved areas, and moisturiser to rest of face. Job done.

does using facial scrub just before shaving not aggravate the skin?

No, that's what it's designed for. It clears away dead skin cells and lifts the hair to give you a closer shave.

This thread makes me feel like a freak. I get out the shower, apply Gillette shaving foam (the Lemon and Lime one), shave using a non-blunt Mach 3, apply After Shave, get dressed, leave the bathroom.

Same here(including lack of aftershave), allthough i have to spend several minutes combing my hair before leaving the bathroom, or else long hairs will get deposited all around the house.

I have to use all that shit - thanks to my genes my facial hair demonstrates a tenacity and strength normally associated with Ebola HF (and with similar maliciousness). I have perma-shadow, and not properly moisturising etc turns my skin into a mess. A Mach 3 blade lasts 3 shaves, 4 if lucky. More than a few times someone has said to me "when was the last time you shaved?" "errr... 20 minutes ago..."

It's been out for about 8 years iirc. It will reach Wales in 2005.
