./em looks at the time

Yes that's right, I've been up a while now after a late night in DAoC and what I was hoping would be a long nights sleep but unfortunately it wasnt. My main problem is that I'm quite often up late and have applied to a job which has work hours. My problem is that I was woken up by hammering and drilling by the bloke next door.....

This isn't the first time it's happened either. In fact, it seems hes been hammering and drilling at just about legal times (6:30-23:00 and it's legal) for quite some time now. Well over 2 years. It's effecting our families sleep patterns a lot and is preventing me from going for a job i want to do. And trust me, this guy does NOT listen to reason.

So my question is this:
What can i LEGALLY do to teach this turd a lesson. :touch:

I have noisy, irritating, little, retarded kids next door to me who are running around and making noise a lot of the time. Usually I shout some swear words at the wall and it stops for a while.

This bloke really is a nit-picky little prick.....he sits there hammering away day in, day-out. His blinds, he's even angled them now so thatpeople walking down our hill can see into his front room because he's done it himself..../sigh

Whenever we're out in the garden, out he'll come just to stand and watch. Whenever my dad goes out, he comes outside and budges his car up juuuuust enough so that my dad can't park back in his spot. He's such an idiot, the other day he came around to our house trying to get us to pay for HIS drains to be repaired.

If we were to do anything even 'slightly' brushing the law, I bet he'd have it on tape. I can almost picture him with a notebook writing down everything we do to try and get us into trouble, he's that sort of guy :/

Heh...I live next to a nice old retired couple and a born again christian! :D No problems on either side for meh!

There ain't a fuck of a lot you can do tbh. You could try reporting him to your council and see if they can do anything (fat chance). Whether he is doing it legally or not he is still causing a disturbance. See if you can get the neighbours on his otherside to speak up as well.

Or hire someone to kneecap him...that seems to work just as well.

This guy, well actually I havent got a clue what his name is come to think of it :D His ex-wife seems to go round there rarely and he used to live there with some guy who used to help him.....well, I think just interior design in all honesty. But he just complains and lays blame for EVERYTHING

The council would prob do nothing :/ They're useless in torbay. If something isn't gonna attract YET MORE foreigners then they aren't interested. Can't ask people next door to him either cause it's semi-attached. Don't wanna just have to grin and bare it cause it means any jobs which require me waking up past 8 o'clock (I'm a nightmare getting up early), I'd have to pass up, including one for night work I was hoping to go for.

And raven aye sounds like a good idea but I bet the bastards got a hidden camera somewhere......lol

I understand... :( oh boy. Move out. The only solution for you is to get away from him.

Before you move in anywhere, stake out the house and neighbours..at varying times not forgetting weekends. Things to look for: Small dogs (excruciatingly noisy and perpetual barkers), half made cars or cars that resemble hobby cars, any building materials...and talk to the neighbours...question them.

/shudders

Those things are REALLY nasty. My friends dad was working on a building site one day when a nasty incident happened with one. Some1 was using one for the first time and forgot to put the safety catch on. Lost control of it, off it went, slicing through a mans neck a third of the way through. Four men had to literally hold his head in place so it didn't tear off whilst the ambulance crew came. I have no idea how but :worthy: to modern medicine he survived. Brutal story.

Anyways, if you don't see me on the boards for a couple of weeks or more, you know I've done something to the neighbour :D

I always thought the arteries were quite close to the surface on the neck, thas why I was kinda suprised to hear about it. Makes me shiver to think about it though :/

Underneath the sides of your neck are where they are situated, beneath a tendon bundle. you can feel them if you tense the area and if pressure is applied you will start to feel dizzy after a while as you have just cut off the blood supply to the brain.
wonderful place to strike someone if you want to knock them clean out.

I had kids next door who used to play their music at full blast all day and night...even though they know i work shifts. One day it got so loud that my other next door neighbour heard it through my house. When i went to ask them to turn it down a bit (not off, just a bit quieter) they told me to fook off and even called my wife a c**t. Well...not having any of this i made a rather quick grab of his throat (after chasing him up the road). When he started to go a nice shade of blue i think my request finally sunk in. Luckily, being an ex army physical training instuctor and with lots of nice qualifications in restraint and arrest, it left no (visable) marks. He complained to everybody who would listen...but with them being the noisy ones...nobody believed him. And, the best bit was..his mother made him apologise to me and my wife for the loud music and the swearing. And, to this day..the music no longer is loud. And, they are very polite to me and my wife (o: ....so, alls well that ends well. :drink:

I hope you get your problem sorted asap m8, i know just what it feels like with asshole neighbours.

keep notes and times, and also let the local authorities aware of the problems and frequency. Councils will not do anything unless this is reported on numerous occasions. I'm not too sure how many times it takes for them to get up off their arse and do something. Also do try and speak to him first about the hammering, drilling etc, and also record when u spoke to him and report this also to the police/council. Councils will always prefer this method and u have to be seen to do something about it yourself first before they will attempt anything. They will also try to act as a mediator. IF he continues to behave antisocially, the council will come and record the noise he makes and then slap something on him.
IF this takes too long start going to football matches and get involved with the local headers and find out where your neighbour drinks etc, bag over head and then threaten him.
option b) worked for me.

sounds horribly annoying :/
best thing you can do is try to have a chat with him/make friends etc
go to war like some kids euh ppl sudgested here in the thread will only get things worse
afterall you live there and he lives there, and unless anyone moves out the problems you have with eachother will remain or get worse over time
some neighbours are like mother-in-laws, you cant stand them but your stuck with them for teh rest of your life and have to try and thread em nice :p

if its really getting excessive you might go make a complaint to the cops/lawsuit, but that will most likely make things worse as he will be pissed off and try to avenge it by other legal/sneaky ways :p

Well have just applied for a 12 hour night shift job 6pm-6am 4 days on, 4 days off. Tomorrow I find out if I got it and if I did, he's gonna have to change his ways else will have to get petty back. I can live off of a few hours sleep a night, I'm pretty sure he can't.
