erm.... pardon my deep ignorance.

Is there any reason why the "silent engage" tactic for RR without guard kill and alarm message is done only by albs?

Does any technical reason avoid shield heroes to engage guards in the same way a pally can do?

Just a newbie curiosity.

pallies can heal themselves
if you heal engaged warrior/hero your healers will take aggro etc

i dont say it's impossible
but i havent heard of this tactic used successfully by any1 cept albs

this strange little thing called "protect" means you can do it with heros and warriors too.

Just paladins find it a bit easier with the taunt shout as well.

Might have to throw the odd taunt style in if you're in mid/hib - have any of the yank servers done it with mid/hib using engage?

I've tested it with my shield hero at several relic raids to engage a purple uber guard. Doesn't work very well with heals from outside.

Would a heal ward thingy not work better than pally healchant?

They draw aggro onto the caster and therefore off the tanks but don't see why you can't simply guard the heal class and engage the guard that way

It's not actually 'engage', as you have waaay more guards on a group than tanks in it - blockrates are high enough nowadays without engage anyway.
Just taunt and hold aggro.

healchant does make it a lot easier though ;)

Aye, and it's so expensive to use two respec stones to get one... I mean, payoff is only a relic or two, after all :p

From what I have gathered, Friggs is not a true heal-over-time, but rather a health regen, and thus gets cut in half if the target is combat (unlike the Mentalist HoT, which is simply uber :)). No first-hand experience myself, though.
