need to spend money on games

Right i have been a CS nut for a few months now. i like the fact that its not just charging around blowing the hell out of everyone and that there is team work involved (apparently!!)
The thing is I want to run up an even larger phone bill by playing other games, but what? You lot seem like the experts so what game should i get my dosh out for next?

before shelling out cash for new games, gotta ask if you've tried all the great mods that are out there, there are rakes of them, and there cheaper than paying for a new game.

It's got great SP. Good netcode for online play. Alot of mods. It's very cheap nowdays. It'll run on unix systems. It actually uses a more modern engine than HL does. As far as i understand it, HL uses a very heavily modified version of the original Quake engine. Quake2 is the best quake style game out there atm.
