Hard to explain the style, american, err...50s'-60s'?

Any ideas suggestion appreciated as per usual.

*By the by, it doesn't have to be OLD to qualify. Just the style of, post war, groovy...ermm....hot rods and bell-dresses music.

Roy Orbison is cool, but it's a bit towards the Elvis style of music.

Exactly. I don't care about "fancy" stuff like being from right time, right place, right ethnicity or some such.

Just that it's that "happy cr*p" from that style

What i quickly listened, good tunes Thorwyn, even if some are a bit more towards funk already.

It's a tricky music genre, the ahppy cr*p, as there's so little room between big band and funk and i don't know how much happy cr*p waws produced.

Not a lot. Uptown girl was a song from the 80's that harked back to a musical style that didn't really exsist from the 50's.

Edit - having said that, search on play.com for a Doo Wop compilation, there might be some stuff on one of those.

Good suggestions all around, and some of some are exactly the style i was hoping for.

It is a b*tch to find though, many here are too much towards the 70s/beatles stuff and aren't really towards the...well...50' style, and the 50' style ain't the style that's in the hunt
