I tried this myself on my rr5ish skald and worked well even for soloing

No i did this with my skald, and i did solo the most...
With 10% spell pierce/dmg you'll do as much as with 2h dragon weapon and will swing much faster.

I found 1h a lot better.

Yeah, I have considered it, and actually started making a template.

But I did do some tests to check out the difference, and the dmg difference was just too big between the 1h and 2h.

2h skald in a group, with aug healer cel up can do incredible damage. Especially when running a hybrid group, and you need all the melee to focus DPS on one target.

The same thing goes when soloing, as a skald I really can't spend too much time fighting one target, considering most of the time I meet 2 enemies or more.

You could argue with that 1h astral weapons do proc the elementals, but you can't seriously rely on those doing the job for you. As the proc rate can be seriously low from time to time.
