Well, same could go as an argument here:

Would you piss on your toothbrush and then brush your teeth?

Would you let someone piss on your face everytime you go to the toilet? (Because every time you open the toiletcover, the airwave and particles in the loo flush over your face)

It's all about, well, how to put it...perspective i guess.

As i said before, it's simply 'cause people are told of the "wash hands or get poo on food" that it's so sacred.

I'm not saying people shouldn't wash their hands, i'm just saying that even if they don't, it doesn't effect your life that much.
I duno about you but i tend to rinse my toothbrush before i used it, so a more acurate analogy would be the particles go on my toothbrush and then get washed off when i rinse it under the tap, aswell as the anti-bacterial stuff in my toothpaste kills off any of the ones left behind.

Your calling people ignorant, but the irony is that you are completely wrong.
If you have been ill for example then those germs WILL be transfered to the food, and if its a especially vuneral food grp such as vegetables, meat, dairy products then you are passing them on to someone else. Some such infections are gastroenteritis, Salmonellosis (strain of salmonela) and Shigellosis to name a few in a huge list. The main factor determining whether the next person will catch the infection is how long it is before the food is consumed as bacteria generally have a short lifespan unless on the above mentioned food grps which it is extended

Its pretty irrelevant whether or not there are more potent ways of getting germs on your hands, whats more relevant is the fact that food is being handled without washing her hands.

Me personally, i never deal with food without washing my hands

Please don't tell me you've gone to such lengths as to every time check on her washings...? :eek7:

Or is your bathroom cycle fixed with your sister? :D
No i don't check every time she fucking goes the the toilet. But when i'm in my room, i hear her piss, she pushes so hard she must have constapation (sp?) all the time. Then she literally opens the door before she flushes.

Points by exaggeration are irrelevant.

Say you sometimes give your mate an amicable punch, would you accept: "So you would punch your mate so hard in the kidneys that he dies?" an acceptable argument against such practice? Of course not.
One: I did not make the point.

Two: Your analogy is not all that good either, because the argument put up by Tothori is that it doesen't matter to wash your hands, because there are particles all over the place anyway.
So using your way of arguing, what Tothori is saying: "Your friend gets punched by a lot of people, therefore it does not really matter if you punch him in the stomach too".
Is that a good argument? Of course not!

Your calling people ignorant,

Holy f*ck batman...i never called anyone anything, prove me wrong won't you, and if you took it as a personal insult, then this discussion is over by a long shot.

The toothbrush example may be debatable, inaccurate at best, but the opening of the lid isn't.

I don't get why people always think, just because you say "that ain't that bad" or "there are alot of other stuff you get the germs from anyway" that i somehow tell people "Don't wash your hands."

Like i said earlier...i'm not saying people shouldn't.

EDIT: And somehow people do seem to think she runs straight to the kitchen after having a piss...
EDITx2: Lil change, i DID call Dudley a whiney teenage lil brother, but he admitted to it himself.

Germs have a habit of lingering on people because its pretty much the ideal enviroment for them, warm with moisture and pleanty of food so even if she spent say a hr doing nothing unless they have wiped off elsewhere (which is unlikely they have completely) she still has them on her hands

its not a matter of they "could" or "might", they will. you can prove it buy buying that funky spray stuff which makes the germs show up purple on peoples hands.

I didnt say you were telling people to do anything, i did however say your point about not washing your hands after you go to the toilet being harmless is plain wrong
Your analogy of particles going onto peoples faces is pretty silly in this context because you dont handle food your not going to eat with your face :p at least i hope not ><

Chronic's right.

I currently work in a tech call centre, and I have actually seen someone walk out of the toilets without washing their hands back onto the floor - I followed him and told him in front of people that he'd obviously forgotten to do it that one time, and that he needed to go back and wash his hands. The guy didn't like it, but then the fucker should've washed his hands.

Also germs don't magically get erased from your hands with a simple wash.

So to exactly destroy the germs, you need water, soap, preferably anti-bacteria stuff and a good scrub....how many do that after a piss?

I didn't say it's harmless also, i said that it doesn't matter in the grand scale as the bascteria you're getting every day(riding the bus, visiting the grocery store, buying the groceries that you have in your fridge right now) is allready way over the amount you might get from not washing ze hands.

The analogy on particle sprays on the face isn't that silly, it's just that you took it a bit wrong.

When you get sprayed with the particles, ofcourse you don't go planting your face in a cheese somewhere, but you DO inhale a, pardon the pun, crapload of other people's bacteria in one swift snif.

Ah, if you look at the point that way, it does sound rather silly. I read it in a different way though.

As far as I understood his point, he was trying to show that the germs on your hands after wiping are (almost) neglegible (like the damage of an amicable punch). He then illustrated this point by giving several examples which we don't make a fuss about, but which are more unhygienic than not washing your hands after wiping; e.g. the germs on your hand after scratching your hand.

you are almost spot on, soap doesnt actually kill the germs. What soap does is "lift" (or "suspends" if you want to be technical :D) the germs off the skin so that they can be rinsed off

With inhaling its down to your immune system to deal with the ones you breathe in, they are usually caught in the mucus in your throat and dealt with there so it is a different situation (Apologies for misundersanding your first point tho)

But back to the point at hand, the difference is the stuff you get from going to the toilet is harmful, we are surrounded by germs eveyrday as you quite rightly say but the majoriy of them are harmless to a healthy person

(remember were talking about handling food after going to the toilet which was his main gripe)

Actually we're talking about, as i noticed a while back, the psychological effect and common "decency" of washing your hands :)

Soap, as you said, is not a bac-killer, but helps in removing them...but tons of people, millions i dare say, only rinse after a piss and they get no slack. Is this right?

And all bacteria is downright to our immune system to battle, be it poo or the piss particles in the store where the clerk didn't wash his hands(no the shopworkers ain't that sanitary people). And that's where my "family" argument came from. We are more resilient towards any poo/piss particles amongst family. Which is why we also CAN stand the particle attack when opening the lid(pardon for returning but it's relevant).

EDIT: Noblok got it right by the way.

Yep, but its the ones that arent there already that are the problem as you said :)
I would rather someone washed their hands properly and then handled food than give me a nasty disease leaving me on the toilet for a week ><
If she was to wash her hands before raiding the fridge i wouldnt mind particularly
But then i do it on autopilot (used to work in a resteraunt, amazng the habits you pick up), i dont feel right unless i wash my hands with soap before i do something with food.

But you'd still get irritated if people gave you an amicable punch every time they went to the toilet, wouldn't you? :p

And I think that's what's irritating Dudley. If not I've gotten it quite wrong :)

Reading this again, it came out kind of wrong. I don't think amicable punches irritates Dudley :p

LMAO.

Guys, if you don't wash your hands after being to the toilet, you have nasty germs. There's no discussion level about it. It is minging, unhygenic and the girl needs to learn.

You could cut out about 6 pages there, full of unncessary rubbish ^^
