need help....

ive got myself into a bit of a dilemma...

patch was released today and to save me downloading it again (im on 56k) i just deleted my old mythic folder and started up through the Mythic2 foler (which i renamed to Mythic)

ok so far?

it downloaded a 3 meg patch, further to the 1.52 that was on gorre, then when it started im in german??

the login box is in german, as is any text in the game, even though i logged into excal and have an english game - i never logged into gorre when it was in german sooo...???

im sure theres a simple answer (i hope) i just dont know it

The problem is you don't know German and we can blame the school system in your country for that.
Swahili, German and Ancient Greek should be taught to all from the age of 12.

As for how to fix it to English, I don't know. Sorry.

eek the only way to solve this afaik because it happened to a friend, is do a clean reinstall with the original cd, and then download all the patches from day 1 about 50 Mb i think


dont do it tho until you are sure there is nothing else to be done

i was thinking about it - my update.dat file is set to gorre still, i forgot to copy it, so can some1 tell me (english) whats in their update.dat so i can copy it

The total downloads to 1.52 are 19Mb.. I just tried it as a fix for the game, it still doesn't work, however.

My problem is..

Establishing Connection to ... blah.blah.blah.blah
Stream Socket Opened
Datagram Socket Opened
Press ESC to Exit game.

So no more DAoC for me :/ hmph.

You sure you just aint got a language folder? If you dont then it true... you gotta d/l everrrrryyyy patch again .

well i downloaded it for gorre, it was about 11 meg, then another 3 meg today. and i could get onto the game...except it was in german..


can i have a copy+paste of some1 (english) update.dat please

and check if you got a map called language in your camelot folder and delete it if its there

it will be the language folder, when i downloaded the patch from gorre the server was currently running avalon in german, so it had me have a german client installed too.

when it went to excal english the german client was still there ofcourse, all you need to do is to go c:\mythic\camelot\ and there will be a language folder with all the alternate wording for the german client so that everything is changed, just delete this language folder and then run the game, it'll by default be used in english.
