need help with wireless internet!!!

hi all i have blue yonder internet con 512k con or somthing my maw wants 2 change it 2 wireless how fast is it, in k, how much is it, and is it like brodband (conected all the time nothing running in the back ground) or is it like dial up

ps wot it a ADSL modem?? and i dont know much about pc!!!

The chances are that your Blueyonder connection will work a lot better than a wireless one.

I looked up the word 'maw' and dictionary.com came up with

So through one of the many evolving scientific calculations I have discovered, I assume the person who wants '2 change 2 wireless' is Tyranosaurus.

Now i'm not quite sure how a Tyranosaurus would deal with typing (but I bet he would be better than you).

Now you see it works like this..
Mr Dinosaur and Mrs Dinosaur have to get normal broadband, they then need to get whats called a wireless router and some cards which will allow you to connect your pc to router using invisable wires, this is called wireless interwebernet.

After I carried out a series of tests and did a fair amount of research into the subject I think I have found out why our friends typing has become so poor, he is actualy the Tyranosaurus typing in third person:

I can't say I know much more than you, but if you look in the networking section above you will find some answers. As to your mum wanting to 'go wireless', you would still need the Blueyonder connection, it would be the network inside your house that was wireless. I will assume that you want to connect more than one computer at a time to the internet.
If that is not the case, if your mum has just been reading/hearing about this wireless thing and fancies a go at that to lose the mess of cabling behind the computer I don't think you can get a wireless ISP connection. If you only have the one computer in your house, then you do not need to 'go wireless'.
If that sounds a bit patronising, I aplogise, I tried to make it as simple as possible as you stated you had limited computer knowledge. I am not the one to answer your techy q's, as I said see the networking section of the forum, all sorts of good advice there, from hardware to setup.
