I am writing a history project at uni atm. But I got a problem.

I remember a "theory", but not who said it.

The theory goes something like:
When people think something is real, it is real for them.

It is the idea that when a nation, like germany around WWII, could accept the ideas brought up by A. Hitler. It is not because they are all crazy feckers - it is because they think that what they are told is the truth. And thereby acts out from that reality.

Wizard's First Rule

Chapter 36, Page #397 US Hard Cover

"People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it’s true, or because they are afraid it might be true."
