Hi, basically im not badly out of shape but pretty bad. My body looks semi good when looking at top half, little bit of moobs but can get rid of them but when look more down and get to my lower body I have huge love handles and it looks shocking. Anyone have tips how I can get rid of these, seems crunches dont do the best job. Any fitness people who can give tips be great, or just anyone who knows without taking the pee :)

Walking, at least 60 mins a day, wearing a moderately heavy pack.
Varied terrain and steps a bonus.
Keep it up for 3 months, and you'll be fitter, and have a bit more stamina.

-THEN-

Work your way up to heavier excersize.

Ah, skipping and running when not INJURED!

Hence, walking... heavy (ish) pack. Trust me, it works. Just don't do silly things like drinking a ton of water or eating heavily before or afterwards (it does happen). Just have a bit of a drink before, and a bit of a drink afterwards. That way your body gets rid of excess fluids in certain area's.

Clean up your diet and get some regular exercise.

Not much more than that to it.

Eat more fats, drink less beers(aka drink scotch), get some fat all round to balance that beerbelly.

Cardio is what you searching for.. (aerobe stamina you need to train)
Maximum fat burning process starts after a good 20 min warmup.. then go for about 80% of your max for 10-20min (be it running, rowing, cycling or beeing on the crosstrainer).

After that I suggest lateral thigh trainer for about 10-15 minutes.
After that you should do euh.. 'romp' excercises...or abdonimal.
crunches could be good... 3 series of 15-20 crunches... do them sideway's aswell or with a ball.
why with a ball? if you're in a machine, you only train that specific type of musscle the machine tells you that you train.. when dooing open-core, you actually ahve to stabilise your whole body and therefor ask much more of ur musscles.

anyways... just a couple of examples.. make sure you know exactly what you want to train, make sure you know where you're at from the start, and what you want to reach in wich time. (ie 1kg per week orsmt:p).
(smart!!:p Specifiek specific, meetbaar measureable, activiteit activity, realistisch realistic, tijd time ) <--key to your success:p

Also make sure that the exercises you are dooing, are well performed, if you do not do excercizes properly, you can actually lose 50% of its effectives maybe more.

And train 2-3 timer per week, and ofcourse watch your daily activities, ie is your work behind a desk? yes, compermise that... also watch ur food!:p

if you dont wanne goto a gym orsmt: i suggest you get a hartbeat-o-meter:p and just go jogging 2-4 times a week for atleast 30 mins per time.

By the way, there is no such thing as a "right diet" when talking about humans.

Every human works differently, according to genes, bloodtypes(yes it matters) and such.

You can find, and only find, the right food for your daily consumption by trying out. Whatever food makes you active and not tired, is your choice of delight.

I personally, meat, cheese and berries. Your basic caveman diet(well, dairy in general isn't) and it keeps me working through the day. Veggies are a nogo for me.

yep like lethul said you really cant just get rid of fat from one particular area (if you could then all us gals would be walking about with flat tummies and arses you could bounce a quid off).

however, something you may want to try is toning exercises if its just that your a bit wobbly then these might probably (lol note im not commiting myself here) be the best way to help your little problem. For weight loss/toning on your sides i can definately recommend a cross trainer the arm/leg movements really do get your sides in shape, but you do need to take a holistic approach and just change the bad aspects of your life.

anyhoo good luck, dont dispair (its only a bit of fat its nothing to get depressed over) and good luck...again.

I think bloodtype is a faddy thing put across by Gillian McKeith with regards to its influence on diet - but if you can prove me wrong i'll happily concede.

Do you not eat much in the way of carbs Seel?

It's not from some fab thing, just that bloodtype=genes=taste=etc. Ofcourse the faddy part would be to use it as a diet sell thing, when it's not really about that.

For example, O type is the oldest bloodtype around, and as such, the "favored" taste is towards meat and berries(dependant on origin ofcourse).

The newer bloodtypes have emerged when agriculture started to make it's way into the world. More away from meat, towards veggies or semi-veggie state.

Wouldn't be suprised if a new bloodtype would appear, with the all-veg diet people around.

I don't think about carbs at all, i eat what makes me feel good and "strong", and what makes me through the day(not counting into the usual "i want to eat that" moments). Natural yogurt, berries, meat, cheese. Very basic, very non-veg.

I'm no muscle bound big guy, and i got my belly, but then again, i don't think you need muscles and all that macho cr*p these days. I mean come on, there's hardly any need for muscles. If you're not working somewhere you do need 'em.

Well that wasn't the point really, ofcourse if you WANT to be in that shape, or do something, go ahead. Just saying that there's not much need for powerhouses anymore.

Except in moving etc.

I'd suggest:
  • smashing your head in to the keyboard ten times, 3 reps.
  • swinging your legs as you sit at your pc, perhaps put a cat in between and then left twenty times, 40 reps.
  • switching your mouse hand.
  • getting up and pressing the light switch on/off fifty times, one hundred reps.
  • wanking as much as possible.

Actually didn't mean, at all, that people only build up to look good for the ladies/men. Don't know where you got that either.

Just meant, that outside the obvious reasons, people these days don't need muscles like they did back in ye old days. Everything is very easily achieved without power.

Funny enough, a guy told me "you should get more muscles" and i asked him "for what purpose?" and he couldn't answer.

Increased confidence/self esteem?

More attraction to the opposite sex?

Just two reasons that IMO are plausible and quite common.

Quite common, yes, but not for me.

My confidence and self-esteem isn't due to some muscles or how i look. And if someone is attracted to me for my muscles, they can f*ck right off.

Even so, there's no real use for muscles anymore, so i think my body will shape itself as needed.

It may not affect your self confidence or self esteem but for many experienced/seasoned trainers they started as very skinny people.

There has never been a need for functional mass to the degree of a bodybuilder - however i find it more aesthetically pleasing than being 9/10 stone.

It's just a hobby like anything else.

Ofcourse, and not saying one shouldn't do so if it pleases him/her.

Heck, i'm thinking of bulking up to look like a dwarf from lord of the rings or something, just that, the need is miniscule and i rather dislike the people who say you "need" muscles.
