Wonderful stuff imho... it is very limited compared to what is on offer in the final game.
First of all you can't tune your car at all, which is a huge part of the final game, and at the moment the style/reputation points are not worth anything really. I am not even sure what they do in the final game, but reviews/previews say they have a huge meaning.

It's fabulous fun, especially when you turn up detail to the maximum and turn on motion blur.

Even on the basis of the demo I could dare say it be the best NFS so far.

Can't wait till the 20th when it hits stores.

Ah yes and... without a racing wheel and pedals it aint anywhere near as great.

The demo may be found at fileplanet at least, but it's a whopping 224 mb :)

Tried it, pure arcade :\ no diff. keyboard or wheel for me, maybe just cuz no wheel settings in options, and no *drag* in multiplayer :\...

PS. Motion Blur is great =)

F-Zero GX has ruined me for any and all other arcade racing games. :(
However, this looks rather fun :)

Arr, it seems that if you play many many MANY quick races (circuit or drag) until you have a good 100k style points and then if you finish first, quit to the menu and do a circuit/drag again it gives a damn sweet looking vehicle.
It always happens when I have style/respect high... like so as I have played for 2 hours now :p:

I highly doubt, and think I know, that this iis how it works in the final game.
I mean you get to customize your car yourself :)
So maybe the style points act as credits... not sure as to what respect does.

Still, fun stuff.

Since when is NFS a sim?
I thought it was just an arcade racer with added fluff :)
go play GPx if you want to tune your car in a sim :p

Maybe in that you may add stuff to your motor, but in this game you will be able to do that and add stuff to the exterior such as body kits, decals and such.
Completely different.
The other is a racing sim, this is a tuning sim :)

My rep doesn't go up when I win races on the internet. You guys got any idea why?

Hmm, it should?
If you lose, you also lose rep... soooo... you could have 100 for a long time if you win and lose equally.

Then again I don't know, and wont know until the demo patch comes out soon. Not playing it until they add those anti-cheat things and fix crashes.
