Just noticed something else about your post, 3 of the 5 games you mention, are sequals as well. Out of 9 games that we have put forward as being (and by specifically pointing them out, you must feel they are the "best" games on the system) the bes ton the ps2, 7 of those 9 are sequals.

There has go tto be something very seriosuly wrong with the game designers of the ps2 when so many of thier "best" games are sequals, there are very very few decent new games coming out.

Mind you having thought about it thats not too disimilar to the pc (doom3, ut2003, unreal 2, quake3, warcraft 3, red alert 2 etc) but there are far more very very good original games coming out on the pc (planetside, star wars galaxies, world of warcraft, Freelancer, there are some others due that i cant remember), anyway theres nothing im looking fwd to on the ps2 atm.

Who gives a flying fuck if they're sequels? Just means they've taken an excellent idea and refined it over time to make it even better. This is a bad thing how?



P.S Wipeout Fusion = teh winn0r. Play it til you unlock Zone mode, then you might change your mind.

my point is that they are not coming up with anything new, whereas the other consoles are, its all very well but theres only so far you can take a premise.

even when u have tony hawk 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 , 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16?

mind u id agree with you on that one, as that mario sunshine or whatever it is is precisely the type of game that puts me off the GC.

But given a choice between TH pro skater 17 and halo, id choose halo thanx very much.

well. on the note of sequels. NHL 2002 is bloody great for the PS2, well worth purchasing for the MP action

NHL 2003 is wank on the PC, as it has a HTML interface.

Im not against sequels, i just think its intereting to note that the ps2 format isnt coming out with anything new that is any good, whereas the other formats all are.

Sequals do have a tendency to get repetetive tho, its all down to how long they put between each one. For example, i loved gt3, but could not be arsed to buy GT Concept, because as far as i was concerned its the same game, but with a few extra bells on, not worth the money, i doubt il get THPS4 either, altho if they did a new game for ps3 when thats out, id probably get that.

Microsoft was dropped by infogrames, because all they could come up with was Grand Prix 5 etc People can only stomach so much in the same format.

I think if there really were 17 tony hawk games, its extremely unlikely you would by them all, especially when given the choice between a great new game or version 17 of a game uve already played lots.

I have NHL 2001, which is great, but it doesn't work on XP!! :eek:

definately rate timesplitters 2 on either PS2 or Xbox, haven't played it on GC yet but will do. multiplayer with 10 bots is a larf!! some good maps too..

shame halo didnt have bots

pfft. Washington all the way.

2002 has hilarious commentry "My Grandmother could hit better than that and she doesnt have any arms!!!" "then how does she shoot?" (i think this bit is right) "i dont know!!"

computer's boring to play against but in MP romp its great fun.

and by gum are the penalties stupid. shoot from the halfway line.....SCORE!!!! goalie sticks his hand out. then puts it down. then the puck goes in.

Colorado are annoying little bastards because of their centre guy. Sykora's an annoying little bastard. if he gets the shot straight on then he scores *pfft*

great fun winding the shot up to full power. shooting. knocking goal tender down. getting the puck, dodging round the back of him and just tapping it in.

mate i play against always checks me if i wind up though :/ always have to use wrist shots. and i cant knock him over if he goes in a straight line. though if he starts doing fancy shit then he's easy to knock over

attack is far too good. just dodge round the defence. trick is getting it past the goalie. mate gets annoyed because i pass too much, just before he checks me I pass and i always manage to check him just before he passes. great fun.

all hail the 4-3 comeback from 3-0 all the way until the 3rd part of play
