I know if they use the low level pet it's immune to Mezz and Snare, however I am interested in knowing how Necro's do something to take almost no damage.

I've got a SB in a nice template. I can get big hits from 2hand PA. For instance, 600 dmg against a Merc is nothing special...however 'some' necro's have found a way to drastically reduce teh amount of damage they take.

Necro's cant get Physical Defense incase anyone asks.

I can PA a necro pet (2hand) for 500+ easy. However some pets it says I PA for 200 dmg...I check the logs and I did not fuck up the style. Whilst using my melee styles such as Garotte, they hit for about 40 instead of the 150-300 you'd expect when dual wield.

Are they doing something really weird (bugged) like using a Ring of Arcanse Str melee resist charge, summoning the pet (possibly carrying over the extra melee resists) and then the buff goes on top meaning they have 26% melee resists +20% from double Arcane Str ring charge?

P.s. These 'special' necro's also can stand in front of a warlock bombing and happily shade-tap his way through the warlock. In short, they have a way to become a PD5 Heretic with AoM5 lol

Good necros with good templates, con affects how much spell/physical damage necros absorb its sort of their soft version of AoM, the ones you pa for 500 I guarantee arent templated, my pissy PvE templated necro on USA wasn't being hit for more than 30 melee damage by a rr11 shade/rr6 shade both on the pet at the same time.

I can only kill a good necro by dumping literally everything and I have no chance in hell if my champ's RR5 is down

Edit: The dragon weapon's ABS debuff proc seems to work wonders on necros though

Same reason a SM pet can tank better than a tank: The way coding works, con and str/con buffs on pets/mobs don't increase their hps, but instead increase their abs to damage. Also template con does the same job. It used to be only vs melee - hence whey necros used to whine about getting 2 shotted by casters on their blue con pets - but it works on magic too now. I can kill a necro with stun, st, stun, moc, but almost OP nuking it down for 150-200 or wtf it is.

Pets can sprint now, so you can't get away from one either once it's stuck to your arse.

A necro pet "copies" the stats/resistances of the caster at the time of summoning. Atleast that's what I've read something like a year or two ago on the Necro VN boards.

So they get out the "Tank"-Suit for summoning (AF/Con cap/Hits/Cap resists), then chang back to the caster suit after summoning the pet.

Something along those lines.

I know alot of necros stock up on toughness, it makes a nice differance.

Only con and hits pass to pet while summoning, +af or AF from your armor doesnt effect what the pet takes in damage.

I've got a question about necro armor.. I have aquired the necro sidi BP and it has a heal proc along with an abla proc

Will these go off on the pet? Or only when I am out of shade?

Only when not in shadeform. Afaik armor procs do not proc on the necro pet (but armor still takes %con damage)

pointless tbh, necros in pve anyway need a summoning suit with 400 hits 101 con, anmd a fighting suit with 101 dex 101 actuity and melee resists, maybe fore resist ir ur worried, sorted!

I thought resists were meant to be applied on summoning suit? I'm currently working on a summoning/pve suit with as few items to switch around as possible

Pve necro that I am working on.. Cba with slayer stuff and all items are easily obtainable. I didn't wanna get a whole bunch of items that needed to be switched out. All I have to switch is the belt and to s/s

Resists when summoning doesn't transfer to pet. Only con and hits do.

Only resists when you have pet summoned counts. You can easily test this yourself being naked and equipping say 2x cyclone bracer and compare damage

For a good summoning suit only hits/con is relevant really and you want those capped. Iirc con adds to pet absorb and hits, well they add hits

For the shade suit you just cap dex+acuity and resists, don't worry about expensive gear with healprocs and whatnot. You can easily do this with pretty low end toa items

Iirc on my necro I have 2x ring of moirai, harpy talon necklace and dragonsworn general cloak to max out con cap and hit cap. Then just make sure you have stuff that gives enough +con and +hits on your generic suit. Then you just swap out those with resist/utility stuff after you have summoned
