Sounds a bit like the pessimist/optimist thing to me... Are those people near death or near life?

Agree that you're only dead or alive. Unless ofc undead counts...

Do you get many undead in Finland ?

Yeah that was the point i was trying to make, that there's only dead and alive. Anyhoop, moo point to "argue" really.

Undead? I'm not too comfortable talking about ze undead 'cause they just developed this interdead system and they might be looking.

Ah, but remember that in a right-angled triangle the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides.

I once had a dream about me eating a giant Yorkshire pudding.

When I woke up my pillow was missing...

everytime i let the missus drive :/

Why do they get cheaper car insurance though? They say women drivers are 'better' drivers, or is it safer drivers?

women are fucking shit drivers in my experience.

today one stupid cow managed to drive past and clip her wing mirror off mine. how the fuck do you manage that when you have a whole lane for your self to drive in?!

Once helping take down a stage set, a section of iron scaffold pole swung down above me, and started dropping. I jumped backwards and it went straight through the stage in front of me, punching a neat 2" circle through 1" thick wood. Glad I jumped backwards.

Once undertook a stationary lorry driver in a traffic jam. He was obviously a bit pissed off, a few minutes later I heard him sound his horn loudly, and saw him coming toward me. Managed to pull off the road between two parked cars, without space between them and him for him to have avoided crushing me. I hardly believed it had happened, had it not been for the horrified expressions of the passers by. (Didn't get his licence plate, strangely I was concentrating on living, not lawsuits)

Had a few near misses in car driving, but thus far whilst some have been mad (landrover and caravan overtaking on a blind corner coming the other day type mad), they've been a speeds that would be mostly survivable had they hit.

So I was drinking a litre of hydrofluoric acid when I accidentally fell into an industrial tree shreader. Still. Could have been worse.

woman's insurance claims tend to cost less, i.e. they knock a wing mirror off, scratch the paint-work, dent the bumper, while men tend to have less LITTLE accidents, but when they crash they do it properly, i.e. @ 100mph into another EXPENSIVE car (well, cant have them 50 000 quid sportsters on the road without trying to overtake them, can we?)

i was told that on a whole women have more accidents than men but they are of less severity.

i.e. woman takes out 3 wing mirrors, a cyclist and an old granny on a zimmerframe (5 crashes, relatively low damage cost)

man crashes into oil tanker blowing it up destroying entire street (1 crash, insane damage cost)

meh similar experiance when I was younger. got caught by the tide while swimming with my brother on one of hollands beaches.. got swept onto some rocks. a sexy lifeguard saved us though, that my dad tried to flirt with (and failed).

one of my mates was seconds from drowning in a swimming pool, when his brother saved him (his brother doesn't have any legs and is missing a few fingers.). It was on the front page of a few news papers the following day.

Intresting thread :)

I've never really been close to death, though I remember when I was about 10, me and a friend were messing around at a dumpsite, and I fell off a wall landing on my back, about 2cm away from a huge piece of sharp metal sticking out of the ground, was lucky. :p
