My bios is the latest version, but anyway before I put it in the computer I tried it on my Dad's computer (he lives a couple of miles away), and it didn't work.
So I guess its a naff CPU anyway, I'll get another one, and swap it with my Dad's CPU (he has a 1900). I'm not going to chance it in mine, it might get fried.
Right, I've had a think about this, and I might just get a new MB at the same time.
I don't have DDR Ram (don't ask what it is, its kind of big, and is 512MB - DIMM?). Can I buy a good, cheap motherboard that will accept the older RAM that I have, and allow me to replace it with DDR in the future? Or will I have to flog the old RAM, and buy some new DDR RAM?
FS, all I want to do is make my computer a bit quicker. Didn't want all this hassle, but I'm thinking of long term here.
The new MB would have to support the CPU I just bought (and am now returning for a replacement).
