:( They nicked my head unit for the radio(not the radio itself, just the front part) and my log book!!! CVNTS!!!!!!! It had stamps and stuff!!! Didn't nick my change, cd collection!(I guess we don't have the same taste), window scraper, receipt from sainsburys!!, de-icer!

Now I've got a window to fix, and I'm really ill. The question is, should I get the insurance to cover it or just pay for it myself?

Owned

Get it fixed yourself, may work out cheaper in the long run. Not sure, check on window quotes and your insurance.

:p your own doing really as you left it in the car

This isnt really a big issue anymore, most places do the service history electronically now so if you go to your garage its probably likely they can print it off for you (some places charge tho so i wouldnt worry unless you are selling your car anytime soon)

I would check if your premium goes up if you claim before you get it done under insurance

Aye got that done Mabs, didn't come up with anything sadly :( Police were really quick to sort me out aswell, which was nice guess there not busy at 3 in the morning. I thought I was waisting there time a bit as nothing come of it, but they said CCTV could bring up something but it's most likely a "dead duck" and as I reported it they'll step up some patrols in the area at that time.

I wanted a new CD player anyway so if I do claim it on the insurance I'll get a nice new one!

that is bullshit!

the thief shouldnt touch stuff that isnt his.
It is absolutely ridiculous that u can't leave stuff in your car nowadays.

It is actually absolutely ridicilous that u have to lock your car anyway.... people shouldn't touch stuff that isnt theirs..

people that steal are all the lowest living beeings of this planet...

ofc it is, but doesnt deviate from the fact if you leave valuables visible you risk getting it nicked

Yes but we all know it, therefore. Leave valuable stuff in car expect to lose it.

Got it sorted now, decided to go with paying it myself as the insurance sounded a worse deal.

£150 to autoglass and they'll come tomorrow morning to my house to get it done.

£100 excess with the insurance, premium would go up but couldn't give me an amount, no claims not protected, and I guess they'd want to take it away for a week and give me a courtesy car cba with that again.

I have been leaving my car in the same car park for about a year now, and the areas not known to have any thieves as it's on a main road near a business park. Though I guess I did expect it as I'm not all that bothered that it happened, happy that not much valuable went missing and it's a good lesson for me to not leave anything in the car again. I'll start parking in the BT exchanges now instead.

have you reported your stolen handbook to the police? if not dont be upset when the police come knocking on your door and arrest you as they may use your details somehow.

did your car have any emo features? emo slogans, skateboards etc in?

was it an emo car?

Yeah I did, I don't think any personal details were in there. I was thinking about taking some of the shattered glass and slitting, just to compare it with razors but I was a bit tired so I didn't. It's white so it's not very emo. It has Domoku doll in it too, they didn't even take that!

Ring a few scrapyards and see if they have the glass and do it yourself, most window glass thesedays just bolts to a runner, use a hoover to suck up all the glass that's in the bottom of the door or forever more wou will close it to the sound of maracas.

For a start it's not theft, theft strictly means the original owner doesn't have it any more, i'd direct you to Tom from General kicking off about this misconception but i'm too lazy to look. :p
