It seems that Morpheus is moving away from the Fast Track network, and will be using GNUtella proper.

Morpheus have released a new version I believe, but it has always been slow and crap I think

Got the new version. It's a totally different look. Atm i like the old one best, but this'll prolly grown on me.

I had a look of that Morpheus before when someone let me access their computer (before you call me hacker - noo lol Netmeeting lol)

It looks very much different to the one i have, may even go get it later

Well, for some reason I doubt Morpheus will be closed down. I mean OK, the thing is huge, but I haven't heard as much controversy with it, as there was with nap. Gnutella is gud, although you gotta remember - the new morph and kazza are now using gnutella. So, ur pretty much advised to use them, cause for some reason my downloads are much faster with the new morph than bearshare or limewire.

Another one is eDonkey which seems to be coming popular with broadbanders.

Dunno whether this is the correct thread to post this in but,

Is anyone else experience problems with the new version of Morpheus?

I am connected via BT Openworld Broadband with their Alcatel Speedtouch USB Modem and at different points when connected to Morpheus, the little diagnostic icon in the sys tray suddenly turns yellow and when I click on it, there are no figures in the boxes, as if it has disconnected me and I have to restart my computer.

It has so far happened whilst searching and once trying to download.

I use `Gtk-GNUtella', which is Linux GNUtella client which, surprisngly enough, uses Gtk

Works a treat, not a hint of ads or anything like that, and is more of an open sourced project than a `13370r file sharing proggy!!'.

argh. opinion change. new version of morpheus sucks. getting average dl speed of less than 1 kb/s. and hello to kazaa!!!!!!! which looks exactly same as morpheus 1.3.3 and also has the useful "file type" criteria
