2- what can you name ? lions i know, horrors, etc, i presume not ?
3- once you set its name, can you remove and/or replace it ?

Maybe try right clicking the pet on the left hand picture. If that dont work, select the pet and you will get a 2nd display of the pet (like when you target enemies) and right click on there.

Last option is to right click your chat bar and look for Commands. I think it was something like /petname <name>

I got around this by calling my squig "Squig"...
