The one I race is a Trek OCLV 9.9 (22lbs of carbon joy) so perhaps not so clunky.

I love it, my ickle bike, but imo I'm far from taking it serious enough to do any real competition with it. How did you start mate? Just sign up one day and give it a go?

I used to race BMX as a kid in the early 80's, then started racing MTBs in 1990. (First bike was an 89 Alpins Star Cro-mega LX Ouch, the weight)

Started riding on the road to train for MTB, found I liked it and started racing there to, although off-road is still my fav. The scene here in the UK is crap now, only 4 races in our National Series ffs. Ive done the RedBull 24hr for the last 4 years, we came 7th out of 380 teams last year , but I doubt Ill do it this year due to family commitments.

Race most Tues and Wed eves, and Sundays when Im not working (2 in 5)
