GOa dont seem to give 2 shits about people with bad names. such as - Beastiality Love. reported this name 2 months ago with chat log and screen shot - no response no nothing, hes still there with the same name

and today seen someone called Gayporn from Fat & Gimped. im all for fun names but these are just plain shit and should at least be changed. :sleeping:

Im not flaming ... Im saying that going around reporting a name is seriously dumb. I made a name on the American server and it was something like Skittlez and I got reported by someone who didnt think it was good enough for their server and my named was changed to something else the next day. If goa starts doing that then everyone who has some spare time is going to start reporting names and asking for them to be changed. Im an American and I think that the person who made the name AmericansRhicks needs to spend some of his time doing something else rather then making a dumb name like that but im not going to report him for it. Im just saying let people make their dumb names.. you dont have to live with them.

Guys, ur missing the point.

What one man find funny, another finds offencive. I know some guys who have kids that likes to watch while daddy plays computer, or who just dont like having a word like "Shitface" stuffed in their face each time they log on.

Names that dont follow my own code of naming, in the roleplaying sence, annoy me. I wont do anything about it though, but they still annoy me. Names i find outright offencive fx. "Rapist" i would report to rightnow if I saw one. People naming their char in that fasion are only doing it to draw attention to them selves, and why not please them by giving them the ultimate attention from someone who willl change their name.

It has nothing to do with one guy being a anal retentive bastard that wont let people play the game the way they want. Its about common sence and decency. We are not all 14 year olds who still giggles when someone says Penis!

Although character names chosen to fit in with the age and kingdom in which they are to develop are welcome, players are free to give their characters whatever names and nicknames they wish, as long as they respect the following rules. Please note that these rules also apply to guild names.

- No religious, sexual or political references.
- No brand, product, character or any other element subject to copyright.
- No inciting of illegal behaviour.
- No references that degrade other players' characters or GOA personnel.

But as we see (and see often), GOA tolerates much that violates their CoC.

I got 6 & 8 year old kids who play this game. I get kinda annoyed when I see names like 'Gayporn' etc.. not enough to report them mind you, 'cos I'm lazy (you can /appeal names on US servers and get them changed on the fly if the CSR agree, Rightnow is just too much hassle for me). But these names can cause offense to some so they probably should go.

There was a guy on Alb/Prydwen called Jehovah Witless, made me laugh, but annoyed lots and lots of people. This isn't about censorship, its just about respecting that other people might have different morals/ethics to others. We can't do anything about the offensive tossers playing the game, but we can do something about the offensive names.

But i gotta agree GOA/mythic dont seem to give 2 hoots about CoC on the naming issue, surely it would be easy enough to add a list of forbidden words so when u click proceed after the initial creation it would tell u that your chosen name contained offensive text... probs too simple for them to implement tho while they so busy gimping and nerfing anything good....

Yes "GayPorn" is a bad case, but here is not the place to get yourself heard by GOA, spam rightnow if you have to, I have a log of a conversation with a person on alb / pryd i reported 2 months ago, and despite the filter being on at the time, the words were just mispelt, so were not blocked, in a severe barrage of abuse. All for not helping him kill a mob - i was at 25% myself at the time against a 50% healthed red).

Needless to say hes still playing, and no reply from GOA. Spam rightnow and the VN boards imo m8.

In my oppinion, yes some names should be changed. A year ago, the big "joke" was to go about calling your self Osa Bin Laden or a variation there of. Funny? - no, offencive - Yes.
Im not an American, and I do not believe in the degree of political correctness they try to force down upon the world, but come on!
Lets respect the people that play/pay the same game as the rest of us.
When you name your char something borderline, you are begging for a reaction. Sometimes the reaction you get might not be the one you wished for, but a reaction is what you are going to get.
