I have a 44 menta but not played it in RvR - I think the main point is that pretty much everything it does can be done by some other class that also has other desirables/essentials that weigh in its favour
Mine is specced for a power bot - never specced another way so my knowledge is limited.
Mana mentas are fun early on, dots are strong and even overpowered in BGs where resists are non-existant. By 50 they dont realy perform as well as a decent spec DD. Best kept as a pve class where hot can be used as a non-aggro building heal and mr5 to keep the mana supplies up. Fun in keep defence/zergs, a useless mezz breaker in fg rvr.
Menta mentas are possibly the most gimped spec ever, I would never roll one. The only good thing in this line is a cure-mezz which is usefull in rvr as a secondary line.
Light menta has charmable pets, which is a offensive tool for rvr or a means of staying mezz free, strong in pve, esp on a TOA server. Spec DD makes them probably the most viable rvr menta, though to be honest a light eld, chanter and other classes will outperform you.
Mentas have acess to static tempest RA, probably the only reason anyone still rolls them for rvr at all.
