Mythics slant on Respec grants

If a specialization line is weaker than it should be, and we tune it up/add spells or styles, there will be no "free" respec granted. If a specialization line is stronger than it should be, and we tune it down/remove anything, we will assign "free" respecs.

Fucking morons. Theres no difference FFS. If they change a spec line (for better or worse) a player may well want to adjust his specc to compensate.... Basically a player has built his specc based on the relative strength of the abilities on that line. If Mythic change this then the player should be allowed a single line respecc accordingly (At the very least, though a full respecc is what should be given)

They try to cut these respec's down cuz of the amount of the support queries it generates when people balls them up. Basically this statement means that can fuck your class up when they want (always been this way) but also, "fuck you" we aint gonna give you a chance to rebuild your character accordingly.

Or am I reading this wrong???

You don't get a respec if you want to respec to a line which has been made better. You get a respec if your current line has been made worse.
Hardly ideal, but for respeccing to FOTM builds you can always raid dragon ;>

well in midgard we killed the dragon twice. So getting respecs wont be that hard, if you really want to. Atleast in midgard, besides if you up a line you would need a full respec. As you need to get points from somewhere to put it on. Also if one line is upped, it wont mean your current spec has become worse it means your current spec might not be the best anymore, but it hasnt become worse. However with nerfing a line your current spec might be completly shit.
Besides hunters got a full respec, when they got their insta pets and spears. So they do give respecs when they give luv to a char. Atleast pre respec stones.

That fucking dragon is another major factor in me quitting this game... Its been fucked from day one and its made worse by the fact it drops respecs and hibernia cant get them. Its not even worth trying to kill it now...

The most frustrating thing is to fix the AI on one mob should be a 10 mins job??? ok maybe 20mins?? (ok maybe a day if its complicated)

This dragon has been fucked from day 1, and it just takes them an eternity to sort it out. 2 years since this game was released and its still fucked.

My emails to mythic and goa are starting to get highly abusive... I have tried the nice polite approach, I have tried the firm but fair approach, the results are always the same, nothing gets done. So now I just rant and swear at them.

They have "evaluated" it several times and deemed it to be killable.

Thing is, SI got to pendragon. They """""tested"""""" the epic-dungeons. A party of 80 albs went down in Sidi with a gm following em, they got wiped? he rezzed. They didnt manage to dmg the mob? he lowered the lvl on it. They finally got to Apocalypse, got dryhumped. Gm rezzed and lowered lvl on apoc. they still died, he lowered lvl etc till they finally killed him. THEN SI went live. Not much change on the entire encounter, apocalypse has been killed a handful times or so. thats what I heard atleast


afaik, the hib dragon gets sneezing fits as soon as you look on him. The hibs on US has done _ALOT_ of research, and I think they have found a tactic that works. (35page document or sumt)
apparently that didnt work when the hibs tried it here. dunno why

i know it's fuckign bullshit, they give minstrels ablative thingy and no respec give 50 instruments it should be easy enough to get a respec stone from a dragon raid tho.

Wrong, read herald etc.

GOA have even agreed that its something they want to see fixed. Atm mythic are supposed to be working on the hib dragon. Thing is nothing will change. and if it does change it wont be for a good 5-6 months. And the change prolly wont even make a difference.

imho it is a serious nerf to hibs if they cant kill the dragon .... respecing to the new knowlegde of the game and patch's etc makes a "first char, gimp but i luve him" way better ..

and i bet a lot of players cant be ass'ed to lvl more than 1 rvr char up ...

so if it is worth anything /cry for hibs ....

its a rather huge in balance for the realm gimps ...

maybee we should have tourney ?? the masta gimps from alb/hib/mid vs each other ? ... we got some serious candidates

Hib prwyd just killed their dragon. Will be interesting if they did it with around 100 like on alb or mid, of if it was around 200.

possibly one of the main reasons hibs/mids dragon is apparently a lot harder than the albs is theurgists, the fact that we get a pet spam class, allows us to put a hell of a lot more attackers onto a mob than an equal size mid/hib zerg, making it easier to kill
and if hibs on prdy, the english servers smallest realm, can kill it then it can't be that hard

uhm we killed the dragon with 140 and we managed, but i highly doubt we could have done it 100. Off course if everyone was lvl 50 100 might have been enough, but its easier to get 140 lvl 45+ then 100 lvl 50's . But indeed curious how many it took them

The reason is that when mythic 'nerfs' a spec line, they don't (most of the time) add something to the line.

However, when mythic strengthens a spec line, and adds new spells and etc into it, they give the players a free respec, as they didn't have a chance to use those spells before.

See what I mean? They don't want people immediatly saying 'omfg gimped' when they lower the damage(usually balancing) and etc on a specific line and using a 'free respec' to go to something else.

They do however want people to have free access to spells that weren't available to them in the past. Thus, giving them a free respec when a certain line is given spells that weren't there earlier.

Talking of Respecs; I've been thinking about this for a while.

I can't think of a single decent reason why Mythic are so against allowing players to spec their toons how they want, even allowing for changes you should be allowed to change your toon appropriately.

Heck, I'd be up for buying them for Bounty Points as mentioned in the US (as opposed to PvE mobs currently already included) or even a single FULL respec every time any change was made to something.

After all, why not? Shock horror players are actually able to spec one way for PvE and then another way for RvR - that would mean people would actually be happy

Anyway, I digress; Free respecs for all!

When they increase a specc line. EG put new things on it. They dont give you a respec....

When they gimp a specc line they give respec.

Its just my thoughts that this is a major fuck up..

If they are giving your class new abilities on a specc line. You dont even have the chance to get those new abilities. That is totally wrong they have to give respec if they chance your spec lines in any way imo.

Respec stones are non exsistent on hibernia atm.

i can see they're thinking, they seem to dislike the uber of the month idea as they put it so by not giving a respec when they imporve something it stops everyone changing spec, also if something is imporved the old specs are still work the same and are perfectly valid so you don't actually lose anything
however when a line is nerfed, eg smite, ppl who are heavily specced in it may be serioulsy affected unless they get a respec
eg say enchanters got the most insanely uber ability in light spec, this doesn't make mana any less evil and they lose nothing by not respeccing
however if they removed pbaoe from mana all the mana chanters would be fucked so they'ed need to give em a respec
(possibly an extreme example)

mythic has shown that if they suddenly make a specline valid that they do give you a respec atleast before .60. Look at the hunters, but now the persons spec is still a valid spec. So if they increase some spec line a little that person isnt gimped and can always get some respec stones. Btw in midgard there are respec stones in SI dungeons too. So you do NOT have to kill the dragon for them.
I think if they modify someones character by alot they should be given a respec either way. But I do understand mythics way off thinking and it is a solid one and they wont change it. So better just live with it
