My TV wont switch on!

About a month ago, me and my mate was watching footie. Game finished, we turned it off, and went into town.

A few days later, I try to turn it on again, and it won't switch on. I figure a fuse or something has blown, but I had a spare TV available, so wasn't bothered.

Now however, my spare TV has been reclaimed, and I'm back with my old TV.

So, anyone know much about broken TV's?

I've tried it in different sockets around the house. I know next to nothing about TV's. Is it even worth getting it repaired? Can I fix it myself? Or do I just buy a new TV?

Take it to a local TV repair shop which does free estimates? Thats what I'm doing with mine on Wednesday.

Replace the fuse in the plug before you do anything. Might be that simple.

blown fuses are very often symptoms of other problems and it may just blow again in a day/week/hour - but certainly worth a go.

Do not leave your telly on standby people.

This is the major cause of fucked tv's.
