My thoughts on RvR- i honestly believe this

well its quite differenet with enchanters as we see in your movie, (cool btw) all u do is run into the enchanters killing zones and boom boom boom pretty much anyone is dead . very good communication. so u guys use voice coms aswell? like rogerwilco( is thatstill arround? ) and as u dont exactly have many defensive classes i spose this dosnt really work in that grp anyway

I don't think Hibs having abilities all into few chars is that valid an argument, if Hibs want power song and end song in a fight, they need 2 bards, that means they miss out on a real druid as a healer, a tank, a nuker or whatever. Whereas, Albs in the same situation can have a minstrel, and a paladin, meaning they've got their power song, end regen + a tank and a semi tank. As you can see from this example it can work both ways.

I have a question for the Albs, have you tried a Hib style group? Say:

2 Ice wizzies for PBAE (Although there's probably not even 2 in existence :/)
1 Minstrel for speed/power song/secondary CC
1 Armsman
1 Paladin
1 Cleric
1 Sorc for mezz
1 Theurg for PBT

Would be interested to know how well it worked, admittedly you wouldn't have BAoD but you would have BoF which is damn powerful too of course. You wouldn't have group purge too, you'd have SoS but I'd guess group purge is superior.

You don't need communication to run into a chanter pbae. Get attacked, see the mad flashing of pbae, run at it. Chanters are forever telling groups I'm in to pull people into the pbae.

As for Cher, hib classes are better than albion. In that the classes with the needed abilities for an RvR group are more appealing and generally more condensed. If you can't see that I suggest you try playing the other realms once in a while.

I did, i've played all three realms. and i believe ever single one of them has something in there favour.

all has weak classes, all have strong classes.

all have gimp lines, all have uber lines

but any argument goes to waste since people always want to think there class needs fixes and balencing.

I was happy with my minstrel when it was considered gimped, i was happy with my warrior when it was considered gimped, and i'm now happy with my ns.

that could be down to the fact that i have fun with my classes however, and don't want to own everything every minute of the day

well midgar classes are very powerfull, try a zerker grp with non-gimped zerkers, celerity + end regen and resists etc... can crush hibb grps bigtime..

Falcon, I am actually discussing the viability of a similar setup with my guildies cause the Hib template works just so well (can't speak for rvr here, though, but the whole xping setup in Hib is geared towards those pb'er groups). - would swap armsman for a friar though and still wondering about a third tank instead of one caster (would one pber plus a dot'er work there? does in Hib pve ... )

Any expert care to post their (Alb) experience with that or something along these lines .... I just can't believe something like that should NOT be feasible in Alb

You're missing the big picture.

Being happy with a single class means nothing. This is a team game, geared towards group vs group (IE. zerg) combat.

Hibernia as a realm has the advantage in this respect. IMHO without RAs, Mid = Hib > Alb in this. With RAs like BAoD and GP Hib push the limits.

It's not about 'owning every minute of the day' either. It's about having fun. And fun is not being destroyed by a group with huge advantages given to them not by skill, but because of poor planning from the games developers.

Insta AE Amnesia, Insta AE mezz, Group Purge, BAoD...

Alone they're nice tools. Together they're seriously overpowered.

Hib need 3 classes to make a nice group, they have PBAoErs with EXCELLENT lines (IE. Not just PBAoE making the characters 1 trick ponies like SMs and Ice Wizzies), a scale wearing PBT class with Parry spec, Mach 5 and CC on a single character and resist buffs are found on desirable lines.

Those are the facts, it's not a whine.

Having said that, Midgard needs to utilise it's unique abilities. Pac Healers (Insta/AE stun) with a few full spec Suppresion SMs could do some serious damage. Bad Omen have picked up the idea nicely and seem to be doing well.

Hib have an advantage, it's not as huge as some people would have you believe and not as little as some Hibs claim but it doesn't make them invincible. We just need to use tactics.

Maybe swap out the air theurg for an earth theurg, but realistically nobody would really want to play an earth theurg for considerable amounts of time in rvr.

1 warden
1 bard
1 druid
2 heroes

Even with this setup the hibs have the following advantages:

- 3 pets
- Friars rarely spec for all 3 of the 24% resists
- Ice wizzies' nukes are weak in comparison to the chanters'
- 6s pbt on wardens vs the 10s on theurgists
- No nearsight, this would be a nice addition to the earth theurg specline
- 3 healers and base buffers instead of 2
- Tougher tanks who do considerable amounts of damage compared to the paladin
- The ability to negate the alb casters damage every 15 minutes (realistically always)

I think its designed that albs need bigger numbers than the other 2 realms (well maybe not against mids). Probably because Mythic figured it out that most new people to the game start in Alb.

1 Supp Runey
2 Supp SMs
2 Zerks

The big plus, and yes it is a massive plus, is the ability to ae stun. We have used pbae a couple of times merely to break mez as the timing was a bit off whereas with AE stun it gives you a rather large margin for error.

If a minstrel plays power song all he can do is cast ae mezz, demezz, dd's and stun... although I know what your trying to say but seriously alb has very little utility advantages over hib, up and coming minstrel ablative will be one however. Also I dunno how easy it is to get in mid//hib but deathsight spec necro's also get 9% abs buff, 43% abs on plate wearer's

Guess you would have to sacrafice a zerker for a skald, both alb and mid have pretty gimped speed providers now I think about it, compared to bard. Especially skald, at least minstrel has SoS and soon 9 sec insta stun.
