My Rundown of the new US series so far (mainly based on pilots)

Ok, been downloading a load of pilots, seeing if any of the new stuff is any good.

Here's my impressions so far, feel free to add if I miss any:

Bones: Hmmm.... It's like CSI, but with more violence, could be ok, but David Boreanaz seems a bit wasted in it (not enough action so far). Also they are trying to be a real-world series, but have wacky tech like 3-D holographic projectors, doesn't help the realism! Not a CSI fan, so I may give it a miss and see how it is halfway through the season.
How I met your Mother: Got it, not watched yet.
Invasion: Have it, yet to watch it.
Kitchen confidential: Poor, gave up half-way through the pilot.
My name is Earl: Interesting concept, could be the best new sitcom out of a fairly poor bunch.
Night Stalker: Ok so far, could go either way really, i've pre-ordered the US boxset of the original.
Prison Break: Looks good, developing nicely.
Rome: Great, well worth watching. With all the sex & violence there's probably alternate versions of a number of the scenes that will be used for the BBC showing, unless they decide to put it on BB2 or something.
Surface: Got the pilot, yet to watch.
Supernatural: Could be good, sort of smallville crossed with buffy. You could compare it to charmed, if charmed was on steroids, wasn't a chick series, and it lacked the eye candy (for men at least). Could shape up to be a nice supernatural action series to fill the whole joss wheldon left, but who knows.
Threshold: Interesting, seems good so far, have to see where they are going with the plot, which will make or break the series.

I'm a CSI fan, so I'll definitely give this a shot. :)

Ditto, but it looks good.

I haven't been even slightly interested in this since i first heard of it.

It does and it is. It's very clever and I'm convinced it's going to see the distance (13 episodes).

It's good but it's only 4 episodes? Although, Lost was originally only going to be 11 or 12 episodes long and look what happened there.

I like the get-to-the-point "here's something fucking weird, deal with it" approach they've taken and the pilot was good - let's see how it works out. :)

Kitchen Confidential?
With a title like that, I don't even want to know what it's about!

I've watched the pilot for Invasion, I'll give it a couple more episodes but it's starting to look like a Quinn-Martin production to me (Hello Mr Vincent! *sticky out little finger*).

Surface, looks ok, it's a mini-series though, basically need to watch it all to see if it's any good.

Yeah the only reason I downloaded kitchen confidential and how I met your mother was due to the fact that buffy cast members were in them, so they can't be sucky... :eek7:

What US schedules? I would have recommended tvtome, but it was bought out but the truely sucky tv.com. You can still find the schedules there, but it's a pain to navigate and to view.

It's not to bad. Go to the shows home page, click on the the epsidoes tab, then the Episode list tab and you'll get the shows in season order with air dates. That's how I do it anyway.

Although I'll agree, TVTome was a much better layout.

A list of 10+ shows that doesnt mention Weeds? Terrible ;) A rather more adult comedy than most US stuff, worth a laugh.

A friend told me I should be watching weeds, I've got them, I just have to watch them.

This is the same friend that gave me 120 episodes of subbed 'one piece' to watch... which is actually pretty good.

I find this site to be pretty handy for the schedules, no times but at least you know when to fire up bit torrent :)

That's not bad actually.

I'm so annoyed that smallville is on tonight. I have to pack my PC up tonight for a LAN party at the weekend, so I don't get to see it till Tuesday!!! :(

Enjoy it while it lasts, apparently it may be the last season. Warner's don't want 2 supermans at the same time.

I watched the first three episodes of invasion (ta deebs) and tbh it was mediocre at best. It's full of standard bullshit from rubbish horror movies.
OOhhh glowy things undewater!!!! How original and scary!

Fox have just ordered another 9 episodes of Prison Break, taking it up to a full 22 episode season. :)
Theres at least a few folks watching this, but it wasnt worth a new thread and this seemed the most relevant place.

Those 9 episodes wont be broadcast until May. Prison Break will run till Christmas, then pause while 24 is shown in that timeslot - returning when its finished.

So if anyone was annoyed at a 3 week break: you aint seen nothing yet.

For anyone enjoying Rome, the second series won't be airing until 2007 :p

Well, as the first one was 6 years in the making, that seems understandable.

Thats just HBO, most of their stuff is worth the wait in the end ;)

Sopranos is back in January, that'll do for me.

The break is probably so the actor playing Octavius can get a bit older to play the part!

Cracking series, loving prison break as well.
