The "not paying attention" is part of the game. Apparently, they´re getting a kick out of catching stuff, so they´re encouraging their prey to try and escape.

What happened to that cats tail? Looks like its part yorkshire terrier or something.

One of my cats spends hours running around the lawn after mice she catches. Usualy bats them up into the air a couple of feet then juggles them a bit before 'pretending' not to watch so they scamer away a few feet before getting pounced on and thrown into the air again. Feel sorry for the mice, but thats just nature for you, moggie has to learn how to hunt somehow

Correct ^^ I remember my cat in my old house... Use to catch it then kinda walk off... The mouse running away... Cat turns around with it's claws out then shreds it or keeps playing with it till they got bored and finally finished it.


Funny to watch till the mouse dies.

my cat caught a bat which has gotten inside our house midair. was quiet cool, it was flying in circles in one of the bedroom with cat in the middle of the room just watching it. suddenly she leaped straight up and cought it in the air
