Well it lasted less than 30 days - the power block, where the power connector goes in?

Well one of the pins appears to have blown, and it appears as though it's damaged my PSU connector as well. It's only a 400W PSU, so I highly doubt if it was the fault of the PSU, which up to now has worked fine (it's only 5 months old or so).

I'm gonna contact Scan tomorrow and RMA it. Gawd talk about a pain in the arse...

Thank fuck I have this laptop, so I can still get online etc.

I feel for you Sar, i've had two dead Radeon 9800 Pros in the space of 12 months.

Haven't ordered an ATi based card this time ;).

Incidentally, who makes the card? My problems lay with Powercolor but i've also heard some horror stories with the Sapphire brand.

This was an HIS Excalibur Pro-IceQ card.

Might ask them can I add money to it and order a GF5950...

That sounds a bit dodgy, fuses should blow before things start melting.

Sorted - it was the connecting lead from the PSU lead that came with the card.

I've switched it and it's working ok now.

For the time being.

Fingers crossed.
