Howdy people.
I've been away from DAoC for a long time, and I feel that I'm not as sure on classes as I used to be. I'm wondering on how I can make my character level up pretty fast(not to fast tho, I want to enjoy the game.). Also, my Paladin is a currently lvl 11. He's a Highlander specced in 2 handed weapons, chants and slash. I gave him 10 str, dex and con when I created him(loosing 10 on piety, but whatever).

So... Any tips? I have no higher chars from before, as I deleted them quite some time ago. I'm short on money as well, so if you know where to farm at low level for some chain and etc, do tell. :)

Freezing: Should I respec to shield/slash as a highlander? Would'nt that be kind'a bad? I'm up for all suggestions. :)

S/S paladins own. 2h pallys, well...I don't think they're as good as S/S (this is MY opinion) BUT, it's your char, spec it how you want. :) There's plenty of good 2h pallys...

nice to see you back mate. I remember seeing you about when i was lvling up my pally.

my final spec is 50 sheild, 48 chant, 29 slash, 19 parry.

i think i used to be 42 sheild, 46 chant. 38 slash some parry.

but its a good idea to keep ur chants to ur lvl, at least up to 30 so you can have a res if the group ur in looses their cleric you can res them and mabey keep the whole group alive.

42 sheild is a must, the slam is really useful even in pve.

But mainly as a paladin you need ur chants so you can help out the group. Especially now with the end chant :D which is why we are needed alot :)

if u can do this specc then do 2h even if its gimped on a pally.

50 2h
43 chants
42 slash
requires full autotrain in both chants and slash.


my advice is u respecc s/s asap when u ding 20.

Yeah 2H is fun for PvE, but in RvR S/S is definately the winner.

Thanks alot for all the helpfull adivce people. I'll respec to Slash once I've ding'ed 20, and I'll keep chants at my lvl untill then. :)

M8 Its ur char YOU decide what style u want to play. As for the 2hd/s&s epic argument..... EVERY man and his dog is for S&S and... EVERY man and his dog is against 2hd ( or so it seems in a general broad based kinda way ) So.............

Make up ur own mind hun, u the one gonna (hopefully) be playing it for months to come ;)

*edit in* For the record my pally is S&C. Yeah thats right I said crush u wanna make something of it huh!!? huh?! huh?! C'mon an duel me then u wuss!
The way I see it.. if u CAN spec in it then y the fuck not? I'm no bleeting paladin, I'm mine.... my own..... my precious....

No offence m8 but 2 hand pallys suck the big one !
Pallys got veary low dmg so thay wont do much dmg with 2hand and you would die quiet fast becouse no shield and lowish hp(yes, yes i know con is primery but any way pallys got low hp).
Btw smart thing that u didnt put in piety , tell you the truth pallys dont even need it piety for chants.

highlanders are best s\s tmho thay got better dmg then sarcen and briton and still got good defence...
i got 50 s/s pally highlander and i solo nightmeres with half hp!
so s/s highlander is best for pally imo.

My advise would be spec shield and crush only at first because slash and chants autotrain as you level up and chants ant that important till you get to level 30 or 40 anyway.

Leveled my pally too 19 so far speccing crush to my level and shield to 1 below my level and i have had no trouble gettin groups so far or soloing. Yet to be seen if i can make it to 40 with crush and shield alone with autotrained chants n slash but i am going to try.

If worst comes to worsted i can always kill task to 40 then respec my chants to my level then but so far things have worked out great for me. :)

chants are not that great till later levels anyway when you become an endurance tank bot with slam and the abillty to ress.

I am planing on respeccing into slash and chants at 40 or maybe later although that would be very hard to pull off.
Would spec at least 42 shield for slam at least 29 slash for that decent style forgot its name and at least 45 chants.

Planing on speccing 39 slash( could go 44 at the loss of some parry) 42 shield 45 chants(could go 48 at the loss of more parry) rest parry.

To be honest if you want to deal allot of damage don't go 2 hand pally because they are not designed for damage output i would pick a merc because they deal a fair amount of damage and duel wield helps get though blade turn in rvr plus with 2 spell crafted proccing weapons you would be doing very decent damage.

My main is polearm spec and it sucks trying to get though bladeturn with a polearm and the fact there so dam slow can be very anoying at times when your trying to kill that healer fast.

The reason i would go merc for frontloader damage is wielding 2 spell crafted weapons instaed of 1 has great advantages 2 procs that might go off and a extra weapon to put spell crafted stats on. plus you will cut though bladeturn.

Point is if you want decent damage go merc but if you want to be the king of pve and a endrance n slam bot with abit of damage thrown in go pally.

bahh someone told me you could they must have been mistaken.. o well... o yea don't bother making a polearm armsmen for damage we just got polearm stlyes nerf when we needed a improvement.

assisting is not a problem for bladeturn make a char in your group as main assist and assit him , easy someone is proberly just popping th ebubble but your getting 2-3 peopel laying the smack down with there poles so no pbt is nto a problem ,especially as you only find hibs with bladeturn these days no mids run with it so assist drop the warden and bt is no longer a prob

as for chants not being any good till higher levels ? how would you knwo you havent specced em , they are level relevant and are still very good at low levels.

I said chants are not great til later levels. I didn't say they were not good because they are but you don't need to spec them to your level to level up to 20 or maybr even 30.

I have made a pally before although yes i only reached level 13-14 before deleting him and the difference between heal chant and battle chant 1 to heal and battle chant 2 or 3 is very very small in the begining and yes i didnt mention af chant cuz normally when yer group theres a cleric or friar there with there own af buff.
You do suffer by having a lower endurance chant in the begining i won't argue that.

Normally twist heal and battle chant in battle and switch to endrance chant if i know its going to be a long fight or if i or the group is resting and its worked fine so far. Also even with just heal chant 1 you become a aggro magnet at least for the first 20 levels it works and yes i tested it. With heal chant 1 on i normally get most of the aggro and that ant much of a problem since my shield spec is nearly to my level. Also have guard 3 which is always good to have. You can get away with getting to level 20 with just autotrained chants easy then you could respec at 20.
Its trying to get to 40 which would be the hard part and something i would not recomend unless you got friends to help you out.

The only reason for doing this is so at later levels you have more spec points to throw around thats all.

If u r referring to the ikkle pic then I guess the answer is yes.. someone took the time to make an animated gif.....so that I could left click/copy it .. and frankly I'm glad they did cos I don't have the time to spend luxuriously creating such time consuming artworks ;)
