So my only job to do for the wedding besides turn up is to find 4 songs to be played. 1 as the guests wait, 1 as Samm walks in, 1 as we sign the thingy and 1 as we leave.

My suggestions so far have not been met with approval, I wanted Aerosmith Dude Looks Like A Lady for when she walks in and Van Halens Jump for when we sign the pre divorce thing.

We don't like shit like Celine Dion or owt like that or I guess traditional sloppy bullshit like Candle in the Wind or something.

We both love Pearl Jam, Counting Crows and basically anything along them lines but I am coming to a dead end even finding 1 tune.

So fellow Freddys this is your chance to be a part of something quite big in my life, feel free to suggest anything at all not strictly related to the music we like, hell if I had never took a chance on Aereogramme I would of never heard them so suggest anything.

Appreciate any ideas on this.

Ta luvs.

Not sure for yourself but at our wedding we had Meatloaf's Bat out of Hell played on the way out and Queens' A Kind of Magic on the way in. We were only just about allowed the first one as 1 month previous to getting marraige they finally scrapped the daft rule that said you were not allowed music with religious meanings - so no Robbie Williams' Angels, George Michael, Faith etc.

I like Our Lady Peace will have a listen.

Also Samm loves Juno so I will sniff that soundtrack out.

Keep 'em coming.

A high possibility of 1 is Elbow Starlings and maybe Newborn especially for the first line 'I'll be the corpse in your bath tub......useless'

:D

It's probably best to go for something easy on the ears for the guests waiting, something like Moby.

A positive developement as far as my humour goes.

Samm has agreed to Van Halen Jump as we leave

So we need 3 more and none of them can be bloody Michael Jackson, Evil Cow

Greenday has me thinking though, Time of Your Life maybe.

I take it you wont be playing the full 4-6mins of the chosen song but just an epic portion of it (unless you choose Blur's Song 2 in which case probably all of it)?

Also, if you are burning your own cd don't forget to normalize the tracks to avoid any nasty surprises ;)

We are having the same problem for our wedding Trem..

As we are both into Rock/Metal it is hard to find something of a compromise..

The only good thing is alot of bands now produce acoustic versions of tracks so we will probably have a bit of Nightwish, some Green Day and some Foo Fighters (Everlong acoustic is really good)

How about a bit of classic Elbow?

Your eyes are just like black spiders
Your hair and dress in ribbons. Babycakes
In despair or incoherent. Nothing in between
China white, my bride tonight
Smiling on the tiles

Bring that minute back
We never get so close as when the sunward flight begins
I share it all with you
Powder blue

Stumble through the crowds together
They're trying to ignore us. That's o.k.
I'm proud to be the one you hold when the shakes begin
Sallow skinned, starry eyed, blessed
In our sin

Bring that minute back
We never get so close to death
Makes you so alive
I share it all with you
Powder blue
