Logitech make the best imo. Also get a laser mouse, but dont bother with wireless as when the batteries start to die you get crap response.

Fuck recharge batteries up their bloated sweating arse!

Battery mice has come a long way in a few years, I remember my old MX700 which I had to load every day and my new no-name Microsoft wireless mouse which I haven't replaced the batteries in since I got it 1½ years ago. And this is with daily use of up to 12 hours(and no, it doesn't recharge).

I didnt have to charge mine more than once a month if i remember correctly :s

ahh ok that sounds much better.

Dont they have limited recharge life, or does the mouse use 2 AA recharge batteries?

there are no batteries you put in, they are built into the mouse.
You just put it in the cradle and it charges :)

You do realise most electronic gadgets ranging from your laptop to your mp3 player use the same type of cells (Lithium-Ion)
It takes a laptop battery (one which is hammered considerably more in terms of charge/discharge cycles) about 2-3 years for a lithium ion battery to lose its optimum capacity, and even then you only lose 10-30%.

Contrary to popular belief it is not good to keep your mouse on charge, every contact with the mains supply counts as a complete charge/discharge cycle.
However you also do not want to let it completely drain as that also shortens its lifetime.
Logitech mice come with a nifty led display which tells you how much charge is left, and the mouse will complain if it is going to run out of charge long before it does.

Seeing as your replacable batteries have a fraction of the lifetime and less charge i really dont see your issue with them :p
Especially considering ALL batteries degrade over their lifetime

Not so far - I've had mine just over three years now I think, I normally leave it on charge every night, which probably isnt the best practice, but so far I've not noticed a lack of battery life - I can use my mouse for most of the day friday, saturday and sunday without it requiring a charge.

Because its lithium-ion it won't (iirc) lose its zero point if you keep it charged, I've not had a problem with mine at all, I wouldnt expect a normal mouse to last three years tbh, let alone a wireless one :)

Before this I had an intellimouse optical, I didnt think I'd ever change from them, but this one is really quite good.

Same here, I only notice a problem with mine if I forget to put it on the charger for several days. If it gets low, dump it on charger, go get a sandwich, it's fine by the time I get back.
