I went to the weirdest place today. It's an old crypt in Hythe, just crammed full of skulls and thigh bones. Nobody knows how old they are, why they are there, who they were, or really anything about them. Just thought I'd share as it was pretty cool.

I Love them, but then I take pictures of bones as a job.

many years ago I visited a ossuary in Rome. A bit similar to this but there the bones were made into patterns/ arches etc.

The Black Angel by John Connolly also talks a lot about these collections of bones.

I particularly like the one entitles Inner Workings, Superb detail.

edit: The Ossuary at Sedlec is one of those mentioned in the book above.

It is astounding as I have just discovered here.
