Help My laptop will not communicate with my printer!

They appear to have fallen out.
Whats going on?
I am only a divvy female so I have..

• Turned both laptop and printer on and off again
• Checked my firewall is not stopping coms
• Deleted the printing job and tried again (eventually -it didn't want to delete)
• Tried to print something else
• Moved the laptop closer to the printer
• Whispered sweet nothings and gently stroked the laptop

What is it dude? Help me -the laptop list the jobs and says it is printing -the printer is all lit up ready to go -BUT NOTHING HAPPENS.

yes default -always has been and its wireless.

Bugger -now I am thinking that maybe I have 'blocked' the printer out. (We went away, I used my laptop. We came home -I had a warning flash up that something was connecting into my laptop so I barred it -it didn't look like my printer -but what if it was? -big FAT PANTS)

when I went through your house and swaffled all your stuff I neglected to turn on your laptop to see what OS you were running. oh well, there's always next time!

thus spaketh the google:

1. Click Start Control Panel > Security > Windows Firewall > Change Settings, and click Continue if prompted by UAC.

2. Click on the Advanced tab and repeat for the Exceptions tab depending if you need it.

3. check or uncheck apps as you see fit.
