My first whine! I feel so special. Healers in BG1...

... Are NOT there to be your buff bots!

I play my healer there for fun, not to get constant abuse from a bunch of whining little children.

I'll heal you if you're near, I'll rez you if you are dead and I'll mez the damn enemy so you can get your damned RP's, but for fecks sake I will NOT cancel my own buffs to give "uber l33t I will not group SB" a strength buff. I will not cancel my POT so a nearby shammy can have it, and I will not buff you if I am in a full group. They come first, not you! IF I have any spare conc left after I have my base buffs and my group is buffed, then I will use what is left. Most of the time I run around with only a POT for myself making me one heck of a target just so other mids can have their silly buffs.

If you insist on doing a /send begging for buffs and I reply with "ooc," then that is what I mean. If I wanted you to keep on demanding buffs and shouting at me I would say so in the reply.

I think any healer will agree that we have the busiest job in the BG's. We're expected to buff ungrateful realm members, mez the enemy so the ungrateful realm members can kill them, heal at the same time and rez your stupid ass when you decide to attack an enemy zerg on your own.

We're the most moaned at group in there. Every RM/ SM and Shammy thinks a POT is there god given right. Every tanks thinks we should be stuck to them so we can heal them and every SB think we should fully buff them so they can go show how uber they are.

I realise what I am to do as a healer and I don't need some jumped up prats /sending me demands all the time.

Another point I'd like to point out to a seemingly dumb mid population in BG1 is that a healer uses <gasp>MANA<gasp>. If I don't have mana I can't rez or heal you. That does not mean do /send healer FFS don't run past... rez me NOW! I can see that you're dead, but I will be dead too if I have no mana and sit next to your sorry ass. I also give priority to those still alive. If they need a heal in battle, I will heal them over you on the floor. Deal with it.

I know what you mean, I played a friar and warden which wardens need healing for themself and buffs for their fighting and wardens use all that mana on bt everyone shouts for.

oh and another thing, if your dead in an OBVIOUSLY unreachable place, release. its not rocket science.

i cant see myself playing a healing class, altho i hugely sympathise with you all, i know i would go crazy loco on the cg.

i had similar bullshit from a rp horny runie blaming his death on me because i didnt root the three, yes three, armsmen beating on him.

the requests on healers must be 10000 worse.

Had my baby shammy Mouldie in the BGs on the weekend. Some prat called me a f*cking noob and ranted at me for a while because I had the audacity to tell him my guildmates had higher priority than him. Bloodboiled over for half a minute but I then burst out laughing when the same chap sent a tell 30secs later asking for a res. (er, DUH!)

- On a side note players like this in my experience are thankfully rare, are dreadfully easy to spot, and hence /ignore.

Thing is for some peeps its their first experience of RVR. They get kinda excited and turn into 12 year old selfish gits that can only think of getting their next kill. (Or as Krogar/Sammie puts it so aptly, 'RP Horny')

Mouldie won't be going to BGs for fun. He'll get his 350 or so RPs and go buy MCL. Its a fair tradeoff for putting up with the tosspots imo.

Was grouping in CM on my ment last night, providing mana regen buffs for the group (the mentalist one's are 10 min timer so I spend a fair bit of time recasting). I was just buffing the group (7 people) and just as I got to one of the eldritches, literally 1 second before I clicked his name to target him, he starts spamming group chat with "MR PLZ" over and over. This was just a tad annoying as if he had an ounce of sense he'd have seen I was already rebuffing (I buff top-down and he was near the bottom). But no, as soon as the icon disappeared he had to hammer his macro. Anyway, that was so rude I refused to buff him, then logged anyway.

In Alb, if you aint a cleric, you aint no use at all. I've taken to roaming around while the main battle is occuring at the keep, and picking off the other "loners" that wander about the BG1....

Well personaly my shamy don't give a damn if i got no Pot, I simply work on understanding of. If I have no POT then the healers can do the rezzing, my mana is for doting On the other hand if I have a POT i'll rezz every dead mid in sight. Needles to say as a cave shamy i try to dodge POT Though the sneeky bunch I was in thid with tonight kept me Poted and rezzing grrrrrrrr

I cant beleive how rude some people are, i rezzed a Thuerg on the Mid Bridge last night to received these words "Finally for FS" and it dont take a genuis to work out what the FS stood for. I mean for pity sake what the hell is that about!

I can assure you that this person will never recieve a rez from me as far as i am concered if he dies in the BG he can rot there.

I am shocked the crap healers have to go through in this game, which is why mine is always set to /anon and /afk i can do with out all the BS.

Here's another extract from BG1 last night. It's not word for word, but it made me laugh:

Picture the scene.... Mid TK and there were at least 15 albs camping it. There were 4 mids at the top. One of those was Mr ShadowBlade McCocky. So three of us sit there whilst Mr SB wanders off. We're waiting for our groups to come back us up as there is no way in hell we can do anything against such numbers, then in the distance we see Dumb Assed SB destealth and attack the zerg!!11 As courageous as this is, it's also.... a little dumb.

I targeted him and ran as close as I could without getting nuked. This isn't close enough to heal, so obviously he's dead in seconds. I then risk my own play time (being the only healer in Thid at the time meant at least a 15 minute trek back had I died) to go res this arse.

Yes I snapped. I also snapped at someone else demanding to know why I didn't heal them and let them die. They had a real hard time understanding the concept of trying to cast a spell whilst you have a big assed monster interupting. I left BG's after that and I won't be going back. I'm suprised that any type of healing classes would want to go to BG's, because the majority are a bunch of irritating, ungrateful and selfish bastards!

And Krogar_Thane, I have been asked by yourself for a POT, which I did give you as I was grateful for the courtesy you displayed. Thank you I wish other would take note!

its way better to just release when you die - thats my point of view, coz usually takes healer some min to get mana and find you then another 5min of ress sick in that time you could have been back in thidranki from portal - and not pissing the healer off with boring tasks

i generally try to be polite to the nice people, and flame the obvious assholes.

seems to work well, as the nice people are the ones who are useful in a tightspot, the assholes just get themselves killed (repeatedly) and rarely know what they are doing.

2) PUT YOUR NECKLACE BACK ON!

3) Buff anyone who ported in, especially wizards/theurgists because then they'll feel obliged to buff you.

4) Buff yourself.

5) Put yourself on the LFG list.

6) Add any infs to your /ignore list because you KNOW they're going to upset you with their buffbegging.

7) Waddle off to the center keep.

8) Head off to whatever bridge is being camped.

9) Cause trouble.

10) Constantly say to yourself "This is better than Emain. This is better than Emain. This is better than Emain.".

11) Rez and microheal dead people apart from infs, who are all annoying alts who were PLd for BGs because they think they're úbér. ~rolls eyes~

Mmm...I'm a friar and I find BG groups easily. Must be something to do with the fact that I type so well.

Lol @ ApathyEndymion Can't say my healer was ever in Thidranki cos it didn't exist when I was that level, but I still get the same sort of thing in Svasud Faste/various tks.

It's not quite so bad at the higher levels cos most of the n00bs who whine and bitch end up leaving the game after nobody will group with them and they die too much No great loss there imo, I even throw some abuse in hoping they either leave or join Nolby Pride*

If you see an SB named Rear Entry though, it's me so feel free to throw me a dex buff I never ask for them cos I know what it's like on the other side.

Just today i told our cleric to not ress me cause i thought i was camped by stealthers. I think he tought i was an alien

IMHO people should not complain that much ingame, it's fun to kill someone but it's fun to die too. Being a wizzy i know i go down fast but some stealthers think that they just have to hit me ones and get away with it, think again cause the 1st thing i do is QC a freeze on your ass and if my healer is paying attention he'll remove that poison. What's left is a stealther with crap armour and a pissed of wizzy who knows you can't run

Oh about that Theurg post...

Wind Theurg has the 2nd best DD spell Albion side, Wizzy is number 1. He also has mess and pets. Out in the open i kill anything that's red to me and is too late messing me. DD bolt will damage me but my pet will disrupt your casting or makes you go defensive. It's at this time that the hurting starts

Had some duels with my Theurg when he was lvl 45, and that was after someone told me it was a duel cause i entered the area and killed 2 oranges and 1 blue before i got spammed with " DUELS YOU IDIOT.

Anyway, Bard points/beckons... I put my PBT on. He messes me and takes 4 hits at me... only 2 hit me and bring me down to 50%, euhm wuss. QC AE mess, they liked that the mids/hibs that are watching Take a few steps back and cast a earth pet or 2, then gives him 2 Air pets to keep him in range of my earth pets and my DD. Let's just say you can't duel a Theurg cause i might stop doing DD spellls but my pets won't

I knwo il get shouted at for this but sometimes the healers aren't too nice too.

Like when today I had 3 shamans stood over me all with power but none would rezz me, no enemy around and no reason not to, I had to wait for just before auto release before a kind healer came and rezzed me. I be as polite as I can to all people but it can get annoying sometimes.

I knwo its hard being a healer-type I have played a warden and friar in thidranki. Though healers arent allways the nicest of people too.
