Well, I must say, I had a lot of fun. Even though I didn't kill anyone in the four hours I stalked around, I did have some exciting moments.
Hibernia attacked Excalibur, and with a small group from the Barrows we headed north. Without any speed, we arrived in time to see the rams crumbling and the doors being repaired.
After wanderring around a little, I decided to go scout out Caer Benowyc and the other keeps to see what the Hibernians were up to. I arrived at Benowyc as it changed hands for the third time. Watched as the small group of Albion reinforcements were mezzed, and then slaughterred by the vastly superior force that had been resting inside the keep. I managed to sneak up onto the hill and avoid detection, where I hid and reported back to our field commanders. At one point, a Firbolg, for some unknown reason, quite cleverly decided to check the slope where I was hiding. He was red to me, and I almost panicked as we were inside trees and visibility was almost nil. I knew he saw me, for he started running back and forth. Thankfully, I knew what he would think I'd do - run (
After that, I changed position regularly, and report the Hibernians moving out. I follow, slowly, only to have to dive for cover as I watched a handful of them returning. I turned to watch them go, then turned around to see a force of well over 40 Albions chasing them down.
Benowyc was once again ours (and Erasleigh too) as I watch some of our best Infiltrators in action, quickly learning the arts of keep assassination. After this, I made my very slow way back to Sauvage after being told to come to Hibernia. Once there, I lost communication with everyone, and wanderred aimlessly about until finding everyone at Dun Crimmthain. I followed them to Dun Bolg, where I scaled the wall to see what was inside. My heart jumped to my throat as I saw a stealthed (purple) Lurikeen with a strange title, unlike any I had seen. And I knew here was a dangerous enemy. I panicked. Not knowing his class, I turned to leap from the battlements, only to see a Master Infiltrator from SotL right behind me. Then instinct took over. I turned back. I heard the bow being drawn, and knew it was a ranger. I tossed caution to the wind and went for a PA. A poor little 36th season infiltrator against a 50th season ranger, what chance did I have? But it worked! And I hit him for around 90 damage, and landed my poison! What joy!
And then the Master Infiltrator showed me how it was done, and dispatched the Lurikeen extremely quickly. I turn, with an arrow in my back from a guard, and lept over the wall following the master, overjoyed that I had helped in some small way.I looked back at my log to see who it was that I had attacked and helped slay. Revminster. I will forever treasure that moment.
Later on, I go lost again, due to me being the unlucky one to draw an angry creature as the army ran along. I made my way back to our Portal Keep, where I watched a number of Midgardians - quite a few of them very high (I was told that most of them were L50) seasoned stealthers - camping the portal keep. I watched as two Master Infiltrators fought and killed one or two, but were themselves outnumberred. I was caught too close to them, and was beset by two purple Shadowblades, not only that, but a 50th season hunter (Eroa?) decided little old me needed to be shot as well. I feel honoured that I required the skills of three or more exceptionally highly seasoned warriors of Midgard to slay. Imagine how many would be needed when I'm actually a threat. <snickers>
Was indeed an enjoyable evening. And I learnt that the Hibernian frontier is indeed a lot larger than Thidranki.
<bows to the Hibernians and fades to black.>
