My first and second cars were both the classic mini. Loved them, second one was even an automatic, basically a go cart!

By god was it fun to drive, shame they rust constantly but mine was mint and it broke my heart to sell it! Cost me all of £9 in repairs to run for two years (new spark plugs).

Got a ford escort for mine.

6 years later and i've still to pay more than £100 to get it through an MOT. It just doesn't go wrong, and when it does, it costs f**k all to replace.

The thing about buying cheap second hand cars is that stuff will go wrong with it. Make sure you get one that you can afford to fix up when that happens. A car you can't afford to get back on the road is useless, no matter how chavtastic it is.
