My Creative Zen Micro's jack is broken.

I've absolutely no idea how this happened, because I take good care of it, but recently I've began getting distorted sound, or just crackling from my mp3 player. It only happens if I move the part of the headphone that connects into the mp3 player slightly forward. The jack seems to be loose, and unless I hold the earphone connection lead with my thumb, or lean it against something (so it is facing at 12 o'clock) the sound becomes terrible.

I'm thinking of putting something inside so that it can't be pushed forward (like a small bit of cardboard) ... could that work?

How old is it?

Phone Creative and tell them, it may be a generic fault that they have many of, and will repair for free/cheap.

It will die altogether eventually.
