Be careful Wij, my former father in law has something very similair. He left it alone and it looked like it went away after a week. Then a fortnight later he was rushed into hospital with a staph infection that was attacking his pelvis and hip, he needed highly invasive surgery to clean it out and repair the damage done. The surgeon said it was mostly like the boil, it became so aggravated and sore that it was open for an infection, staph bacteria which lives on the skin was then able to enter the boil and cause a full blown infection.

Don't quote me on those details because it was a few years ago and I am not a medic. Basically though you want some TCP on it and lance the fucker, squeeze it all out TCP again and then savlon cream around it before covering up for a few days. Don't leave it though, especially if it is an ingrowing hair as that can get really painful fast.
