I have played this game on a system with XP2100, Geforce 4 and ADSL, and a system with PIII-733, Geforce 2 and 56k modem.

And you know what? I didn't lag warp at all under either setup.

Look, it's clear there's a trick being used. I'm tired of being in melee range of someone, having /stick on them and being told they are out of range, especially when I've run right up to them and they warp off like it's some sort of space age realm ability. So blatant it's actually laughable the culprits are trying to defend themselves.

Anyone I find doing this I mark down as a cheat, simple as that. You can yell and scream on here all you like, but when in game I find that happening, I know you're cheating.

You know who you are, stop doing it. If I see anyone I group with in Hib doing it, I'd tell them to stop and I expect Albs and Mids to do the same.

Because it's not lag that causes this situation, it's deliberate use of certain in-game techniques.

I group with several people who suffer BADLY from poor network connections. And you know what happens to them? Do they lag warp? No. Do they lag cast? No. Do they just go LD all the time. Yes.

Sorry, but this 'laggy connection' thing is a total red herring.

Their connection should have been not bad ENOUGH then. I group with ppl playing on modem and bad ISP and guess what I see? Even if u just stick to em u see em warping from time to time when running at speed5(6).

So for example you have seen someone stood still, /stick on him, being told he is out of range and suddenly he disappears?

So far I have blamed my crappy PC and crappy server for warping enemies. Now you are saying that there is some "trick" and I can stop blaming my PC/Server? If so, guess I have to report every single Middy/Hibby for cheating, they all warp on my screen.

I group with Sagba a lot (see his post directly above). When I am /stuck to him he is always making lag runs, where I follow him for a bit and then either zoom back to where we were standing or get 'out of range' to follow him.

I had presumed that the various Mids/Hibs that I can't hit or /stick to in RvR were suffering with some kind of connection problem -- or a combination of connection issues at their and my end.

But maybe you are right, anyone who has lag ghosts is a cheating son-of-a-bitch in need of a flame. Unfortunately that would include most people in all 3 realms.

Would be nice if people could devote at least 30 seconds of thought before posting such irritating bollocks as appears in this and all the other PBuck/Walker threads. Because 30 seconds of thought would lead to one less ridiculous post.

hibs AND mids OFTEN warp, Ive been told by others I often warp when I suddenly stop and cast, I see casters every time I RvR "lag casting"

Its part of the games shit engine, live with it and stop calling people like warper & pbuck cheats.

As soon as someone becomes good at their class, and learn how to kill effectively, they're branded a cheat because those making the accusations are sad, jealous individuals, that can't handle the fact that someone else is better than them.

Funny thing is tho, even tho he tried to explain how laggy he is, he never has any problems with lag from his end, both as far as casting speed, retargetting, moving out of range, etc. happends. This I find kinda strange, because if I get lag, it affects me as well as everything going on around me.

Another funny thing is, try and stick him yourself and pound on him, see how he magically zaps around unless he gets CCed.

I don't like accusing ppl of cheating, but this is in one form or another exploit of the game engine, I don't give a damn what ppl say cause the way he and a few of hsi friends do it is way too suspicius (sp).

Why do u think ppl throw accusations at the better players? Jealousy? Maybe. But half the time its coz ppl see them being *too* good, doing stuff consistently they shouldnt be able to (like headshot everytime in Counterstrike).
Lets be honest here, if u compare DAoC to many other online games out there, the level of skill required isn't anywhere near as high. So what do u expect when we see pbuck consistently doing things that we barely ever see from other players?

And that's the crux of this issue isn't it?

When most of us get lag for one reason and another, we can't do much at all, the game goes on around us but we're not able to get attacks and spells off in time. The paradox with these 'lag warpers' is you can't hit them, but they seem perfectly able to warp away at crucial moments and drop well timed nukes, mezzes, roots etc on you. Their lag seems to miraculously stop just at the right moments.

But it's true, we can all enjoy a good flame fest here but it won't change anything. Report this to GOA when you see it. But don't just email GOA throwing accusations if you don't have logs, screenshots or movies that will back up your case.

my point was more along the lines of: you or anyone else are not in a position to accuse anyone of cheating, and doing so is slanderous if found untrue.

i play alongside walker on a daily basis, and while i can say i am 99.9999% sure what you are saying about him cheating is untrue, i CANNOT be 100% sure, only GOA can prove that.

not one of you can be 100% sure they are cheating or otherwise. and because of that, you should keep your potentially slanderous comments to yourselves in public, and deal with it through GOA, however "suspicious" whatever they are doing may seem.

Exactly! it's just a computer game and he's like hah! you're all jealous of me cos I'm great... and I'm like newp, not jealous, just coincidental that most mids/hibs think he cheats and all albs says hibs/mids are all losers cos they think he cheats. tbh when I rvr'd I knew of walker, Psi, Niar, Araudry and many other albs but not pbuck. He's only actually well known because of all the accusations.
People often were like 'damn.. Walker/death/azal/blood/thing' etc in the old dayswhen we'd arrive in emain and see deathspam.. never seen a 'damn... pbuck' ever.

Fact remains everytime anyone attacks you anytime during combat you lag away in mach 6 out of view out of range etc.

PAed you several times whilst casting (PA sprint stick CD) ----> "Pbuck is not in view" and when time comes for CD, "Pbuck is out of range" --- > ooh nice nuked in the ass dead.

Also seen several times other assassin stabs you you mach 6 away nuke him dead from miles away, also same time 2 tanks chasing you there goes warp again both dead seconds later.

This happens everytime, and dont come with any bullshit youre so skilled, and anyone saying you dont cheat deliberatly are just big ass kissers.

tbh I think cougar has a really good point, lets get over with the laggy comp excuses and such crap, and focus on the real problem, ppl that strafe while being mezzed/stunned. It really makes it hard for tanks that use side required styles... instead of flamming pbuck and his team- cuz that is getting old, flame the f_cking lagstrafers cuz so many ppl do it and it ruins the game far more than pbucks laggy computer!
