Fucking multi-cultural world.

Any muslim who refuses to take people holding alcohol should be sacked. Why go into that line of work if one of your key customers isn't allowed to be driven somewhere?

Fucking hell...

You'll also find that most non-muslim cab drivers will refuse to carry you if you've carrying booze too...

No. I know LOADS of taxi drivers. It depends. You might have just gone to Tesco, done the weekly shop, and bought two bottles of whiskey as part of your shop. You might be a businessman whose just bought an unopened case of champagne for a client. You might be a typical fuckwit, reek of booze, and are swigging from an open bottle of hooch, in which case I wouldn't blame anyone for refusing them a ride. At the end of the day as a cab driver (1) you wanna know you're gonna get paid (2) you don't want them in your vehicle being obnoxious, abusive, or throwing up.

If your not drunk they should not refuse you. In the UK you can make a complaint to the local council offices who distribute the cab licences giving the registration or licence number.

about 6 years ago a neighbour of mine with a disabled child successfully got a cabbies licence revoked after they refused to take his child. Use the official routes in place to make complaints, they will either change their ways or loose the licence.

Apparrently, some Muslim cab drivers are refusing to take passengers who are carrying alcohol:

Some have even refused to allow a blind man's guide dog into the car on the basis that the animal was "unclean":

Eh?

Read the 2nd article before you post a summary?

It was not a muslim cab driver who refused a blind man and dog to enter, it was a Muslim who refused to enter a cab, lead by a blind man + guide dog.

Nothing to do with religion, it is about being sane or insane, no sane person would drive with a blind man behind the wheel!

But the article's heading was just named in a way that hint the opposite...

all this muslim shit is driving me crazy.

i dont see any other religions melding other people to their ways except muslims. i just mean in the UK btw.

well you know what, its just a fucking religion and you chose to follow it. so shut the fuck up trying to make US (non muslims) follow YOUR rules.

they want to fit in, yet they detach them selves from anyone else. such great logic there.

and lets not even start on that daft bint school teacher with the veil.

did you even read the articles before you went on your rant?
Or just select the bits you want to read so you can go on your monthly anti-muslim crusade

When asked if he would get into a cab that had a black dog in it, Mr Kahn denied that this was a question of discrimination based on colour. "The driver is blind! What has colour got to do with it? I just don't want to be killed in a car crash with a crazy man."

This did make me laugh tho,
Local politicians have appealed for calm, whilst condemning Mr Kahn's bigotry against dogs and the visually impaired.

A caucasian cab driver, who i assume ws a christian from the cross on his dash board refused to take me and my mates home after a night out because we had food.
/jumps on bandwagon
OMGZ ALL THIS CHRISTIAN SHIT IS DRIVIN ME CRAZY

You have a very short memory then, /points at Iraq to name 1

"they" have fitted in for 50 odd years now, "they" fixed "your" (apologies for the generalisation to whom it may concern i'm just putting it in context with the quote) labour shortage after the world war. It was "you" who called "them" to the country in the first place because if "you" didnt "your" economy was fucked
and lets not even start on that daft bint school teacher with the veil.

tris you will notice that the muslim council of britain doesnt support that teacher, there is nothing in the qu'ran (the muslim equivalent of the bible) that says they have to cover themselves from head to toe, it just says to dress respectively
Its a cultural thing... i however do think women have the right to wear (or not wear) whatever the fuck they want in "private", i.e. when they arent at work or a place where there is a dress code.
It is YOU suggesting that rules are imposed on women by saying they cant wear them because if you believe they shouldnt be allowed to wear their veils you are suggesting they have a "uniform" in which case you are deciding what they should wear.. a bit like Germany under a certain dictator

not really with the ninja hood issue

I think in certain situations they shouldnt be allowed to wear the viel. I know this is a silly example but if at work there is a dress code if i wear something thats out of that dress code i will be penalised for it. But the goal posts move the second you mention religion. As been mentioned its not a religious necessity to wear a viel

And it is difficult to talk to them in viels (btw i'm talking from experience as wood green where i live is ram packed with muslims and other such religions so i'm not talking from what the papers say) I think the have the right to wear what they want just like i am. I just think in some situations they should be made to remove them.

.

exactly.
if we go back to the good old middle ages and start basing everything around religion the whole country will goto pot. i dont believe there should be laws protecting a religion or special rights at work. i always keep saying this, but its a choice to follow a religion. call it a hobby and a way of life if you will.

computer games are a hobby to me but i dont expect my place of work to allow me 10 minutes a day to nip on the 360. i also dont expect them to let me wear something just because it relates to that either.

IF there is a dress code at work it should be followed,
but i ask you this, if the route your suggesting was followed and a company was given free reign on its dress code with disregard for all religious and social guidelines.
What would you do if they decided the new dress code was that every guy had to wear nothing but a thong
Or forcing a disabled person to come into work without a wheelchair because their "special needs" arent in the dress code of the office

What you are suggesting is going backward, where employees had little or no rights and undoing 20 years of progression

strippers arent a good example as it could be argued clothes would stop them doing their job technically

You cant compare someones physical/mental capabilities to wearing a veil. Thats a really bad comparison really bad

im NOT suggesting going backwards.

im talking purely on religion, that is different to someone needing a wheel chair. id think no one would choose to be in a wheel chair. you do choose to follow a religion.
my whole point is some things in your life are choice. if thats the case you cant expect everyone to pander to your choices. otherwise we should all be insisting on time out of work to do what ever the hell we want.

(1) Its not a rant - I posted two links with a rolleyes smiley. Hardly a rant. In fact quite the opposite. More a case of "oh for heaven sake what next"

(2) And for the record I do not go on a monthly anti-muslim mission. Its much more frequent than that :p

I posted it for topical discussion. You wanna take the post the wrong way, fine.

Have a nice day.

lamp (not just you) stop there, this is a half decent discussion for once and i kinda dont want this to turn into a generic FH "well you mamma sucks ass" path like every other goddam discussion here, then get the lock stick on

I think we should start a new religion that we need to wear american football armour all the time. Would rock on the tube at 9am in on a weekday

it is very much the point,
I'm talking about people who dont need a wheelchair because they can go about on crutches, but use a wheelchair because it improves their quality of life.
They can do without it as it does not affect their ability to work so why should you stop at religion? after all your point is that everyone should be treated the same without exceptions social, religious or special needs

sorry ive not made my self 100% clear. what im implying is, if you are disabled, 99% of the time its not your fault. unless you are a dangerous driver then you deserved it. if something is not your fault i dont believe you should be penalised for it. so places of work should have to have facilities to allow disabled workers to naviagte around etc.

but a religion is a choice, i know ive said it already. so why should you pander to the choices of someone if it means it will effect everyone else?

why should i not be allowed breaks to practice my hobby (which religion is, with added +1s to life styles etc)? is being obssesed with gaming any different to being obsessed with religion? they are both a way of life yet one is allowed things that the other is not.

you are if you start a religion, get it recognised by the government as a official religion, put forward your case to a tribuneral at work and it gets approved as a acceptable practice in the work place (note your work doesnt provide any "equipment", it only provides you a sufficient place to do it in)

I dont actually understand what you are refering to when you say "so why should you pander to the choices of someone if it means it will effect everyone else?", could you give an example or elaborate or something?

p.s. if you are at work now, you will find you are practicing your hobby right now by posting here ;)
