I'm currently looking into finding some new music in the 'World' genre (i think). Only way i can describe it is the high-tempo percussion based african music tbh. Have napster at my fingertips so if anyone can point me in the direction of an artist it'd be appreciated.

Thanks :]

Try looking for Wumpscut - Troops Under Fire.

Infact just try the radio station on winamp named digitalgunfire.com

I've been listening to that kind of stuff alot recently. It's digital/industrial.

Ladysmith Black Mambazo are an excellent African band although perhaps more vocal based than you're looking for.

One of the best things I could suggest would be to check out Peter Gabriel's website and see if he has links to the world music record label he founded - the name escapes me at the moment.

Saw a funky band at Glasto a couple of years ago - name was Manu Chao or something similar - if you can find anything by them they were pretty funky from what I heard there / downloaded*...

*in a legal manner ofc.

Maybe try out some Santana aswell (the band, not the guy, though ofc the guy was in the band). Would recommend Black magic woman, it's really nice, and I think it might be alot of what you're looking for...
