Wellllllll young Cally McWelly, in Munkeys neck of the woods they have the same region as in the UK, only they get their releases alot earlier, they are certified(I think) and uber cheap, I own a vid shop so I thought this could be the start of a beautiful relationship, but I doubt Munkey cba tbh.

I need you to tell me the titles chum, you see they are out before they are out here so I dont actually know what the latest titles are. Try and get me a list. There could be some money to be made out of this Munk, there is likely other dealers who would want stuff as well.

they cant edit the DVD's, only the VHS.

You can't splice dvd's at a guess.

no idea, but I'm guessing that a) they cant be bothered buying the technology to do so and b) they're lazy bastards anyway.

Besides, with VHS they can record straight back onto the cassette, with the DVD they'd have to buy a new one, thus they have to pay processing costs as well which i doubt they're up to doing. Even if they did spend a few million riyals on speed cameras that take blurry photos when the temp goes above 37.

One possible prob with this is that if the DVD's don't have a BBFC certificate on them, I think you're not allowed to sell them in the UK. I vaguely remember this happening with the Computer Exchange on tottenham court rd a few years ago...

I may be wrong though!

And correct me if I'm wrong, but won't the titles they'd want censored, but can't, just be banned? I'm sure that's what used to happen with CD's, as I had a Saudi friend who used to make a nice earner selling copies of albums with 'adult' lyrics back home.

The thing is that you can buy the BBFC certificates and my ex boss(Lo Leeeeeeee) spoke to trading standards and they didn't seem to have a problem with the renting of overseas earlier films as long as they are stickered up. Its a strange one and one that certainly needs to be treated carefully, but the twats at the big studios(lo Fox, WB, EV) don't give a flying fuck about independant dealers. There is a lot of people on the dealer forums that would be interested in a regular supply from the far east.

If you don't fancy it Munk, try and find a supplier for me, I will send you over a decent drink for it.

its only the outright porno stuff they outlaw, this country is pretty lax about censorship......but not as lax as Dubai. Saudi is pretty extreme, only recently opening up to tourists and the like.
