SLightly off topic here, but this is how utter useless the income support system is. Mate lives with his lass. He is unemployed with 2 kids (has been unemployed for 3 weeks due to the credit crunch) and she works 16 hours a week. Because she works 16 hours a week, he is entitled to £3 a week in dole. Yes £3 a week. But..if he leaves her, then he will be entitled to the full amount, plus they will pay for his childs nursery fees and pay both the rent for his gf's house and his new place.

Ok im confused.. are you say they got 2 properties now? or you just saying if he had one and was single they would have 2 properties that both be paid for?

They be entitled to housing benefit as they be on low income, they applied for it?
And you forget to list everything else they should be getting that would affect his money, it not just the fact she works.... they should also have child tax credit, working tax credit, child benefit etc etc etc.... it be the mix of all this that affect how much benefit he can get.

Can the GF not drop an hours work a week to go under the 16hr/pw threshold?
