Catsby has the HP Officejet 7300 multi-jobbie. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=170249

Catbsy notes that it is twice as expensive as the Brother model, but Catsby has never had problems with HP hardware or software. Catsby also needed a network capable printer (He believes the version up is wireless network compatible, which is nice.

Catsby hopes this is of use for you.

Edit: Catsby notes you said answerphone... He does not think the HP does this. Apologies.

my dads been working in the photocopier/fax machine business for over 25 years and he always says never to buy these 4 in 1 things

What is it you actually need it for?

If you need the occasional copy dont forget that fax machines make copies just as good as budget photocopiers

Also bear in mind that these things are pretty much toys in the industry so if they break its cheaper to bin them than fix them

If your after a fax machine come photocopier there are some decent samsung laser fax machines you can pick up in just your bog standard currys shop theyre under 200 and pretty good

If its something else let me know and ill ask him :p

what kinda thing u using it for?

colour/b+w?

and volumes?

Well, I just want a phone/fax/answerphone, with printer (cos my Epson Stylus sucks), and scanner (I want more space I'm sick of bits of computer everywhere).

The print quality needs to be okish on glossy, nothing special - it is mainly used for printing colour invoices on bog standard paper.

I know they're only cheap toys, but seeing as I have to buy a new fax machine, I may as well use the opportunity to get rid of the printer at the same time.

I want something reliable, that doesn't need the print heads cleaning every 15 seconds, and that can send faxes, and do scans basically.

I don't know what my budget is really, but so long as its around £200-£300 thats fine (I'm VAT registered so thats not an issue).

Looks like the Brother I mentioned above is a good all-rounder. If nobody can suggest something better, I'll order it tonight. I'll just get a cheapo dictaphone answering machine and hide it somewhere (tape answerphones are better than digital tbh).

Thanks guys

/edit: ooo PC world have them in for £100 inc VAT, that looks pretty cheap.

/edit2: aww crap its a slightly older model, oh well.

It sounds to Catsby that Tom does not need the network option, nor memory stick, nor the nice little lcd screen. As far as Catsby can see, those are the only real differences, that and 40 quid.
However Catsby would have purchased the 7410 series had it been available at the time, as it means he could put the printer far away, and not have to trail any cables around his office.

Well, Dabs didn't think it worthwhile contacting me in a reasonable amount of time, and there are no phone numbers, so fuck them. Good customer service, I love it.

Fantastic. Dabs have just sent me an invoice. This despite me cancelling the order before it was even completed.

This is going to be fun. There isn't even a phone number I can call them on. What a bunch of *****.
